I dont think the 8gb card will slow the p1i down as far as processing speed, too many people with 8gb cards have reported no problems as far as that is concerned, however a big factor for me keeping my w960i over the p1i was the fact that transfer speed are 3 or 4 times faster on the w960i. In less than 10 min. i had most of my music collection on the w960i. I wonder if the conversion would do this for the p1i
i doubt it, it is hardware dependant, i'm guessing, the data has to flow through the few connectors that can be squeezed onto the M2 card but the flash memory in a w960i does not have to be small or removeable and so probably has better connections through which the data can flow through quicker.

the only problem is that the P1 will be SOOOO damn slow in processing these high capacity cards and once you use it you wont be able to use mulifunctions at the same time without expericene extreme lag..
I use a M2 Sandisk 8Go on my P1i, it isn't slow at all
I find the same...
If you want to move a lot of data in a hurry it is very easy to remove the card and pop it in a USB adapter... V.V.V. Rapid!

I think they have all forgotten about it and got themselves a new W960i phone. It's been several months already and no one has any idea if it's still pushing through or not. I myself is even willing to pay for the price converting my P1i to W960i. I would have replaced my P1i with a W960i phone but I couldn't let go of the qwerty keypad, it has greatly impacted convenience on me. I don't wanna lose hope but honestly, it's all melting down.
