Above is the Z8 font for anyone that needs it, i got it on my p1i and it looks superb. To mirror a font is basically to make your p1i use the font you selct by naming it exactly the same as the font that the p1i uses so that when you RESTART your p1i and have your fonts placed in the right file Z/resource/fonts, it should use the font you selected instead of the default one

My phone (960i) wont let me create the "resource" folder in the media memory, I get a warning sign and the option to save again using a different file name, as if it already exists. Can see it through the filemanager app though?

Does the "fonty.zip" have the missing characters corrected ?

Try connecting the phone to the computer using file transfer mode and then creating the directory and copying the files. It should work.

Thanks for the new files.

One more question, though; I don't have access to edit/replace the contents of my ROM-drive (Z:\), so I'm not able to mirror the new font files...

Any tips/hints on how-to manage this? (I've tried both the "Swiss manager" app as well as "X-plore" app to do this...)

Ok, maybe a stupid question, but I'm wondering about one thing;
how du you "mirror the files on the rom- drive (z:) over on the mem- stick"?

Just copy the directory structure from the rom- drive, over to the mem- stick (and include only the files you want to edit). And then edit the files on the mem- stick afterwards. Then reboot, and it should work.

(If it doesn't, there's a problem with the name. Maybe it's the wrong case, or something like that. Windows tends to add capitalisations to folders, and sometimes extensions to files - that might be the problem. It's possible to turn it off in the "folder- properties", I think.)

Do these fonts have the missing keyboard characters (return, shift etc)?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but are saying that you don't edit the files in Z:resourcefonts , but just copy them over to the memstick, edit/replace them there (in folder D:resourcefonts), reboot your phone, and then you're good to go?!

(pls forgive my ignorance =)

Yeah. No hack, or anything like that. Just using the same file- names in the same paths as on the rom- drive. (It doesn't work on system- files or individual programs like opera, though..)

..Read further up in the thread - if you need the special characters, they can be copied from the default font- files with some tool or other.

I followed emyh and scotland67 guides and here you have a updated z8 font with the missing keyboard characters (return, shift etc). Also hebrew and arabic included.

Works perfectly on my P1i phone and it looks nice!
If you need a guide how to install them, check out the great p1iblog site here!
