> Leaked: Sony Ericsson C905 (codename: Shiho)
Bookmark topic
I am, and probably will allways be, a Sony Ericsson user. And i must say that the C905 does seem to tick a lot of box's. However, why give us an 8mp camera without an optical zoom??? I would much prefer a 5mp camera with the addition of an optical zoom. Samsung are allready on the case with this - they have just released details of the G800 replacement, the G810 which yet again has an optical zoom. Lets not forget, Sharp had a the 903 model almost 3 years ago with an optical zoom. I would have thought that with Sony's Cybershot expertise that SE would be the leading force in cam phone technology. Since their brilliant K800i (which i miss) they have been playing catch up to the likes of Nokia, Samsung and even LG.

As you said - on the market. This is a freaking unannounced prototype! Don't you get it?
Calm down! Don't pop a blood vessel now.
But really, the camera quality sucks and with SE's track record, it will still suck when it's out. I bet you my lunch money on it! lol
I wouldn't be surprised if you'll be admitting you're blind in a second...

5 seconds in Photoshop, 5 seconds on Noiseware Community. Surely the final software will produce something like this.

You really nailed it with that pic, Mizzle.
BTW, we can stop fixing the colours now... I think we all got the idea.

CANT understand this talk about optical zoom.
optical zoom sucks in cell phones (just look at the pics with example Samsung or SO905iCS) they looks not good at all at 3 x zoom. if you want good zoom quality you really need BIG good lenses and thats nearly impossible for a tiny cell phone.
second, optical zoom make your phone much thicker, (and that we dont want)
i vote NO for optical zoom
and yes for slim design

im sure it will be fixed.. if not, im still buying it
i mean sharpness is great. I can redo my pictures in photoshop if i must, but dont forget... after phone is released, ppl will try to crack it, so modded camdriver will be made. Yup colors are fuzzy, but hope for a firmware fix.
P.S. this thing is OFICIAL now, check out the DEMO TOUR on youtube.

Whilst it is true that an optical zoom would mean a bigger phone it does need to be said that the C905 is no slim Jim. Surely if we want a good camphone that can truly negate the need for having both a phone and a good camera, we could live with with something a little chunkier.
An optical zoom, in the normal scheme of things, is the next natural evolutionary feature for camphones.

I am sooo glad this phone was announced! I've been looking for a replacement for my K810i for a while. I had the K850i and suffered pretty much all the bugs found for the release firmware in the first 3 days! So I've been stuck for a long while.
I do like it's almost Viewty like curves on the ends. And to think I almost ordered a Nokia N82!
