dude, and what's the point of this? are you one of this not very smart persons who thinks that phone platform (read: OS) is based on Java? if yes, then you're wrong - it's not! am I wrong? question: is Nokia's S40 platform based on Java? you shouldn't criticize things which you don't understand. moreover as a J2ME programmer I can tell you that J2ME implementation (known as Java Platform) and J2ME SDK for PC is one of the best combo I've ever seen

are doomed as they dont make a phone with everything that I want! I want 8mp camera with af and xenon flash, vga screen, 80gb hard drive, gps, tv tuner, satellite dish and tea maker in a phone smaller than a W880i.
Not too much to expect is it?!

Looks like the entire company depends on your goodwill.

I really liked SE, and since my k750i i expect a decent upgrade. k800 appeared that wasn't anything, but a minor tuning. Then k850i.. a tuned version of the k800... now c902... tuned version of the k850i. I expect something BIG. eighter a drop in price for all products or new! technology. c905 is 550 euro samsung INNOV8 is 780 euro. so for 230 euros you get TONS and tons of good stuff (read about the specs). SE did it once, good price and quality and excellent phone (k750i ). A legend. ...no more.
customers are leaving... i HATE their strategy about separating W and C series. Why cant you have it all if its the same company?

@carkitter,
if calling a spade, a spade is arrogance then so be it.
the a200 is a budget phone & budget phones are for those with a low budget...duh!!!
i was gonna state this but dogmann did it 1st..."you need to ask yourself why so many hold the opposite opinion to you"??? seriously.
but unlike dogmann i wouldn't want you in the real world...you are better off in your never never land with your, so like you, not so smartphones.

@Dogmann

100 Million SE purchasers in 2007 agree with me and 50 million so far this year. Don't take Esato as being representative of the entire market, its not.

Your little biography confirms what I said earlier, the most vehement critics here are PDA fans, now mostly Nokia owners who just can't see that SE is a specialist in (what you call dumb) feature phones.

Nobody diagrees that SE lost its way when it went Evolutionary with the K850 instead of Revolutionary like Nokia did with the N95. But why the aggro? Nokia can afford to experiment and gamble with models like the N95, SE felt it needed to stick to its knitting but has come off second best. Its currently re-inventing itself as the maker of the best-looking phones; a strategy which is sure to improve things, but they still need the must-have features too - wifi, large screens, touchscreens, better video...

Like I say, they are not so far from success. They are at 9% of the market, the best they've ever had was 12%. They won't threaten 20% or 40% market share even with an iPhone killer or N95 killer or the perfect PDA. Let's be realistic. I would define success as returning to 12% of the market and growing at a faster rate than the market. That's exactly where they were only a year ago.

Doomed in a year? Hardly!

They are on denial, thinking too highly of themselves and not listening to their very own customers.

Sony are playing along till Ericsson becomes weak by its own stupidness and later gobles it up 100%.

Agree with the statement. But ill probably buy one more good looking se b4 i fcuk em off completely. There isnt no hope. If you think about it everywhere you go somthing is depretiating in quality. Ppl are start to care less about things that have to be done and r getting lazy. With the release of the K850i its just the start of the downhill course for Se tried to path the original os to some new A2 os and its unstable, enough for phones to do what xp done b4 the first servic pack. Se has no choice but to sell the prone to be brick products stock up in there warehouses.

I don't really get what you saying. Are you saying that you'll follow the crowd and leave but not yet because thier products still appeal to you?
That's just dumb. What a position to take! You're admitting to not understanding the debate.

An interesting statement. I've also noticed that consumers are becoming merely operators of technology and not understanders of technology. As a qualified Mechanic I'm staggered by how many males can no longer carry out basic servicing on a modern car. And how difficult it is to buy any Automotive Electrical equipment these days. How many poeple know what a Relay is let alone how to wire one up? How many geeks can wield a soldering iron and a parts catalogue and build a computer from scratch which is where Bill Gates and Steve Jobs started way back when? But Apple is as much to blame as anyone when they create products like the iPod and iPhone which are designed to be spoon-fed multimedia content unlike A200 and S60 (I'm thinking N95) which can CREATE sophisticated multimedia content. I've also read comments in blogs on this subject, and it seems to me that are one of the last places a thinking person CAN find solace. I had a V630i and a Samsung Z400v at the same time (same price, similar spec) and am still unable to find any free themes or theme creators for the Samsung while the V630 can be infinately customised with K610 and W810 themes. The Samsung PC Suite is unstable with XP sp2 BT drivers, awkward to use and has minimal features while the PC Suite is better and MyPhoneExplorer is awesome.

If I became an LG or Samsung owner (my wife uses the Z400v), I'd have to become a lemming who is stuck with only the minimal features available on the handset at purchase. With handsets, the inital package is just the beginning. And I haven't yet become involved with Modding Camera Drivers and Flash menus, XS++ and Java Applications, though at Uni I've just started to learn Java Programming last week.

Still more reasons to stick with

One thing that makes me stick with SE is this:
-The ability to dress up your phone with native accessories, most brands nowadays do not offer the same level of accessorizing our phone just like what SE does.

Thats exactly what im saying. Just like a beautiful women any man would rather want one over anything less in terms of looks. SE in this case is the beautiful women and i really like the designs they are presenting, but then again these are phones you can't help and negotiate solutions to their problems and, issues so id rather want somthing reliable that will last me for the rest of my up comming college year then to be going through the send, wait, pay and, repair route all over again. Get it!

Off Topic
with the c702 and c905 being a200 based phones just like the k850i i dont see any huge benifit beside a possible 8.1 mp cam that may produce worst pics just like the k850i to the k750i. The X1 is my next buy, plus the last phone ive owned that wasnt 12 desktop was the p800.
