Im confident that they will not sell the handset if the software is that slow... I woul definitely class as that being an early proto...

The software will be a lot better by the time its ready for sale, im sure of that...

This is the first handset in a long time im interested in... Hopefully it will tick all the boxes

Cheers
ENJOY

Might I add that the prototype handsets don't rely on the GPU power of the Snapdragon chipset? Currently, everything is being rendered by the 1 GHz CPU. Anyone with just the slightest bit of computer knowledge will tell you that CPU's suck at rendering graphics, so the CPU in the X10 is actually doing quite a good job already. It'll be much improved once they transfer the calculations to the GPU.

Just wait for it to get announced. More info will be available there.

That is painful, even more so when you consider this supposed to have a 1GHz Snapdragon which is meant to be fast, etc. One would hope it runs lightning quick when released, but not a good start when presenting such a new device and it runs so slow. Probably put people of and look at the other devices coming to market.

Before people go completely bananas over the sluggish interface of this proto device, do keep in mind that Nokia N900 which has a very fancy UI with a lot of animations, struggled a lot with its speed at the early stage of development.
Now it's blazing fast so you should not worry about the speed in the final product of X10.

Thanks for this post I understand better now. And I'm now sure it will be my next phone (I've got 2 BST 41 I don't want to throw them with my "old" X1). But I still think SE made a strategic mistake with this early presentation. I thought only "old" SE could do a such thing.
