Xperia SP suffering from display issues

I am looking at the SP for my next phone. One concern is the reported lack of magnetometer. There are however some videos on the net showing the compass working and affected by a nearby magnet. There is also reference to eCompass, which will find the following in Wikipedia 'The Motorola eCompass is a tilt compensated electronic compass utilizing an accelerometer and a magnetometer.'. So would it be reasonable to say it does have a magnetometer which is integrated into the eCompass? Has anyone got one of these to confirm it works?

i dont mind if the price of the phone would be cheaper as there isnt a charger in the box, but we all know it wont
