this really needs to hot the Z1, will be a slap in the face of Z1 owners if sony decides not to port it over.

There's still some confusion regarding the SoC...
The press release mentions the chipset as Snapdragon 801, while the whitepaper mentions AB, the clockspeed makes it AB not AC...
AnandTech.com says that 801 should be AC not AB, is there's a possibility that 801 has two versions ?
Some clarity - in particular to the 805 used by Samsung. Pay particular attention to top clock performance.

welcome to 2013 - been using it on BB10 devices for a while now
Glad it's being used in other devices ... you ca really really enjoy this when creating movies like a slide share - you'll be VERY impressed. BTW - this is NOT a Sony, nor BB innovation ... it's a 3rd party company bought by another but ability to license this tech to all platforms so enjoy it to the fullest.
WOAH!!!
This is a cool Accessory!!! Something that brings what Sony excelled at for digital recording back in the Mini-Disc and Hi-MD days ... FINALLY a smartphone can be the new age quality DIGITAL recorder!!
A powerful microphone in a truly mobile format
Get the best sound for your Xperia videos thanks to this small and easy-to-use high sensitivity stereo condenser microphone.
Bands are going to LOVE THIS!! Why didn't Sony really use this during the conference to impress?! This further shows HUGE value.
Z2 .... (unless Z1 Compact can use this fully) ... I think you've finally won me over with Android. (unless BB10 can launch a better device than the Z30, hmmm do I count sheep or shall I wait).

For some reason this phones seems to be much better than the Z1.. I know its not a brand new design, but it just looks better and it feels more deliberate.
Job well done Sony.

I agree. Recording sound has been a big let down for phones but this should make a big difference.

Anyone know if we have had any early camera samples yet and if there is any diffrence in quality compared to the Z1 given the fact that both have the same sensor an MP count.
