Thanks you tai020381.
There are some cheaper remote shutter controls to look at, not sure they'll give full control. I was looking at this -

I think the shutter control he is using is quite pricey and I was looking for a cheaper alternative as this is made for actual cameras.
How about this?? Do not know if it works for Xperia though. Zackbuks did introduce it though. If it works you still need to buy the monitor & setup:

Update. On the Q&A section they replied not compatible with Xperia Pro I & 1V..

My old Xperia 1 iv had developed battery bloat and it has forced the battery cover off, showing a visible gap. All just before I was about to sell it. There is nothing to be done for it now, I suppose. It's completely out of warranty.

Has anyone ever tried to replace the battery on their phone?

I ordered the battery from eBay, along with the sealant, quite cheap and I already had the mini screw drivers. Watched a tutorial on YT.
It's now saleable again.

by sealant, do you mean the rubberized foam gasket tape?
i didn't think to look on ebay for spare parts. i always went to witrigs cause they supposedly sell authentic OEM parts. I might try to replace the cracked screen on my 1m2 if it's cheap enough.
