About your statement "Posting helpful web sites". Most, if not all of your activity here on Esato lately has been about promoting your themes hosted on a particular web site. Why don't you promote your stuff on that site instead? Why do you keep coming back here if you don't like the Esato policy. BTW: the mods are just trying to follow my ever-changing policy the best they can. We often communicate, but don't bother each other every time a questionable post is moved or edited. Mods also have different view on what should be moderated or not.

In your opinion Esato censor you posts and are preventing free speech. Well, none of your critical post about Esato has been removed or edited by Esato mods. What we are talking about is a link to a particular web site. You will not accept that these links not are welcome here, but continue to visit Esato to promote this site.

The reason why you want Esato visitors to click on your links, is because it's something you have made yourself and you want as many as possible to download your products. Fair enough, but why don't you upload these themes to another web site that not are banned from Esato?

Look at the rules at e.g howardforums. It's OK to have a link back to your webpage in your signature but any off-topic spam will be deleted. That includes “helping people” by advertising your site to them or soliciting other members.. The Esato forum rules are set up as a guiding rule for members, and you are expected to follow these.

Esato can't offer the services we do today without any income. By constantly directing visitors to other competitive sites, the income and service level will be reduced. Notifying Esato members about new products, sites, themes is of course perfectly fine with me, but when a member only write a post because he want to attract visitors to another site, this site might end up in the ban basket.

I am not very fond of internet censor myself, but removing links to one or two web sites we all know the addresses to is not what I call censorship.

Then include an upload for the themes .... (and not only images wich btw is abused) because I don't see a point to have a "Theme request thread" if we can't link to the themes that members have taken the time to do and try to share and be helpfull with other members.

Finally a straight and complete answer. Thanks! That has cleared up some of the rivalry issues i had questions about.

I guess Esato theme upload would only be worth the space if it help to attract more members then eh? Mind you... somebody will need to supervise the submissions as well to ensure the quality/good taste.... and of course if the theme actually WORKS on the phone.... which could well prove to be a full time job

Perhaps a specific location just for the requested themes? after preview and esato approval?? I dunno... praps it's all too much effort to accomodate a small group?


anyway.... just some random thoughts here

The banning of m9 has caused more promotion to it than stopping the promotion of it, but TBH i don't aggree with the banning of mobile 9 and maybe that's because i'm a frequent poster there and i'm sticking up for the all the nice people there, but what ever we do i doubt we will be able to change Laffen's mind, and i'm not taking it out on the mods and wont either as they are just doing what they were probably told to do (which is doing there jobs) and esato has lots of good mods which all equally do great jobs. But i don't understand if you're helping a user why aren't you allowed to post a link to a site which has no illegal content and isn't breaking the law in anyway? i understand competition but mobile 9 isn't in competition with esato, esato will probably always be bigger as it had a head start and has more users. Also users can visit more than one forum each day, i know i do, including my own forum (well i don't go there that much anymore but i used to), and also competition can be good, it keeps you alert and on your toes and stops you just letting the forum run and dieing as you'll always want to be better so you'll install new features to keep it like that instead of just letting it run and run until it starts going down.
