what makes you so sure the PRO works with the P900? haven't seen any review showing that it works. I guess a lot will be disappointed if it doesn't.

I asked Sony Ericsson about firware upgrade on the P800 to enable them to use the Duo Pro and they said that there was design restriction. See email below.
"Dear Sir or Madam,
Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Customer Care Centre.
This is NOT compatable, the P800 is only built and designed to work with 128MB or less. It will also not work with the other cards mentioned in your email, unfortunatly this is the design and therefore a software upgrade will not enable this.
Please contact the Sony Ericsson Customer Care Centre again if we can assist you further.
Kind Regards,
Samantha McKay"

From the french Review here:
http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/urltrurl?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.pdafrance.com%2Farticles%2Farticle.php%3Fcat%3Dtestssmartphone%26id%3D312&lp=fr_en&tt=url
They seem to have found out as blue pointed out that the Pro Duo is compatible with the P900 making it a much more attractive option to buy, memory wise, over the P800, with its limited 128MB restriction at present.
Babels Translation isnt that good but you get the idea:
The arrival of Memory Stick Duo Pro, compatible with P900, and having storage capacity much more interesting (256 Mb, 512 Mb and even 1 Gb) ravira all the fans MP3, vidéos and photographs. As always, Memory Stick Duo could be used in the apparatuses compatible with Memory Stick Traditional thanks to a provided adapter but the reverse will not be possible (what is extremely regrettable on P900 since the stylet is not there any more to obstruct a possible protuberance of traditional Memory Stick).

Read it and weep, expansys decided that the stick i pre-ordered was going to change its name from Duo to the lovely
PRO DUO NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE P800 or P900. Why dont sony ericsson understand that there is a massive demand for bigger memory, think about it like this:
My P800 has become an extension of my PC I could never imagine my PC having hard disk space of 128MB, i used to have a 486 with 256MB space, they could at least support the larger memory in pro duo format, 128MB is so restricting, and for like another
£20 you could get the pro duo which is double the size! I am sticking with my P800 until something with more memory comes along. The neonode is looking attractive although i probably will end up getting the P900 when my contract is up for renewal.
Damn those memory restrictions.

128mb not enough and you are talking about a Neode??
You must be using your P800 has a walkman then, not for what he is really made : working
Buy a iPod or a Archis then! You will have min 10Gb or more for less the price of a 512Mb MS Duo Pro. An archos cost max 250€... and if you want a really powerfull one (20 to 160 gb!), you even get a big tft screen to see your video.. you can make video's and taking pictures with a 3.3mpi
The P800 or P900 remains PHONES, no walkman or video camera or mpg4 player, he is no made for that.

Advertising the P800 as being an MP3 player when you can only store a few quality MP3's on the 128MB card, which you have to buy seperately doesnt really constitute as an MP3 player. Or a video player that only plays videos that are under 120MB, why put the functions on the phone if you cannot use them to their full potential? Im just peeved because of the lack of available space when using the P800, not just for audio/video but for everything. If I had more memory on the MS then i would be able to take data into work with me rather than using Zip disks CD's or emailing stuff with a really quick transfer rate. With all the P800/900's functions i think SE forget that with those functions you need memory. Imagine buying a video camera that allows for 30 mins of recording or an MP3 player that only plays 1 CD's worth of music.
Maybe that was OK a couple of years back but now things have changed, 256 and 512 pro duo memory was in the pipeline when the P800 was released but still SE didnt think about this and restricted the consumers to 128. Even with the P900 they have failed to add in pro duo support, which makes me more annoyed and may make me think twice about investing in a product with minor facelifts.
Perhaps I am just asking too much from a phone, I want to use the net, send pictures, emails, video clips, play games, listen to hours of music, watch/record videos, oh and talk, all on one device, maybe i'm being over the top. But its all possible, so why not utilize it???. If i was at SE and packed it out with the features it has then i'd make sure people had enough space to use the features. Its simple as, i know loads of people who would of bought up memory cards to play MP3's or watch videos on their phone, it gives it so much more functionality. One of the many reasons i bought a P800 was because of its ability for portable audio, which was possible to an extent after a few months of waiting for larger memory. Some people may say go out and buy devices specific for their purpose, but why have several devices when you have one that can do them all. At the moment memory is so restricted and i can't see how much of a problem it would of been to integrate pro duo support into the phones as sony have put it in many of their clie products.
Anyway ive had my moan. I wont be happy until i have a device that does everything you can imagine. Sony should think the same then people would not be complaining about memory restrictions and just creating new ideas as to what else you can do with a phone. heheh

From P900 White Paper, page 54:
Memory Stick Duo starts at 8 MB and has a roadmap,
which foresees sizes up to 1Gbyte in the future. A 32 MB Memory Stick Duo is supplied with the P900 and
sizes up to 128 MB are supported.
Now go figure :)
