Van, who tells SE to go backwards? Just manufacturing basic phones with a clear, legible. And easy to use screen isn't going backward in technology imo. The current mono screen phone T100 is a joke. Its blue screen is harsh on the eyes. And who is asking SE to ignore the high end market?

What i am saying, is that
a)se are doing well in china
and
b)they are focusing more on development for the higher end market
i didnt say that making low end phones was bad, what i am saying is in answer to your original question whizkidd. i think

are leaving the low end market to nokia and are trying to develop more.
but they are releasing 3 new low end phones, the k300, the j200 and the t290. o

I know @van what You're trying to say. I just wanted the opinions about this matter. It pains me when i see Nokia doing so well here in a segment which has a great potential. And SE is completely ignoring it. I just wanted the opinions from Esato members whether SE is doing the right thing by doing so. I know that the high end market is SEs focus and almost everyone has been saying that all through these 100 odd posts! What i want to know is whether SE needs a different strategy for a peculiar market?

@vanquish - I agree with your last post mate. I just hope that

will 'copy' the style of Nokia when making low-end fones as well, surely that will just be an additional earnings for the company

@jojo
thanks!
i see what you are saying, nokia are brilliant at low end phone production, not design though

, and if

widened themselves to still do the major development they are doing what with the p910i, v800 and s700i releases, but ALSO doing more work on the under 150 pound budget their marketing sales will increase and they will be more well known in places like india others!

@vanquish - I just hope that

will do it GOOD (sales) next year, as what they had accomplished in 3Q or was that 4Q of - 2004, where thet manage to 'overtake' - Nokia in one quarter in terms of mobile fone sales!

I know that the high end market is SE s forte. But heck! even Mercedes brings out scaled down versions of their vehicle in markets like ours. But they also have their best models on sale here. Even Maybach! What i want se to do is concentrate on the high end segment, but not at the cost of ignoring the low end. Most people here begin their affair with mobiles from a low end handset. Here, that usually is a Nokia. Then when they upgrade to a higher segment they choose Nokia just because they are used to it!
