@axxxr
Its now time to leave it, but i wouldnt say calling someone an idiot was petty name calling, i would call it stating the facts. Face it! This is a delicate thread and your first post in it was just... petty! It was meant to be humouress, which in my view is stupid. So no, you wont get an apology from me, sorry, but as a religious person i dont like seeing people walking all over my beliefs as if they are nothing, which i saw you do in another thread.
@scotsboyuk
sorry mate, lets continue the discussion,

why did i call you an idiot? look back at your first post in this thread...
Hmm... Look back at your posts, you'll see where you're out of line.
Why would I PM a mod? I never shrink from a vigorous debate. Just look at the America/Iraq thread. However I don't insult the opponent, they just get frustrated when thier argument falls flat.

@car
I am not saying everyone that gets involved in political debates causes the thread to get out of hand. I fully believe that you are a mature and responsible guy that likes a debate, but remember other people arent like that and its better to be safe than sorry, in my view stop political and religious major debates to avoid someone saying something stupid, or someone getting hurt.

i myself and most other people on esato respect peoples opinions even if i/we do not agree with them
For me it's not so much other people's opinions that are the issue (I accept and respect a person's right to hold a view and to share that view); it's ofen an issue of fact.
Take for example, the messages of condolence from world leaders after last Thursday's outrage. The Israeli Foreign Minister said, "Israel, which has a long experience of terrorism, shares in the pain of the British people... I hope that the free world will now be less lax in its attitude towards terrorist organisations." (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4660415.stm). That is a political statement. The condolence is a mere aside for him to spread a message through.
I would say that the state of Israel is one of the greatest terrorist organisations in the world. The body count of innocent Palestinian deaths is there for all to see. My statement is clearly political (that it's factual makes it no less political).
Some people will ask why I singled out Israel's comment and they are right - I'm making a specific political point.
This post may attract comments. Politics is everywhere.
