that is 675 euros...still way under what the P990 was launched for...and remember those are pre-order prices...they are always overpriced

I thought pre order prices were cheaper?
I remember N95 pre order prices were £359. Z8 was £300 on play aswell.
675 Euros is way too expensive. Even the N95 8gb doesnt cost that much.
Thats why you have to wait a while for it to drop. I think a month or so should be ample time.

You are absolutely wrong when you say
"The N95 8gb has its posatives aswell but it doesnt have the battery life, build quality or music interface or quality of the w960 so it depends what your looking for."
As the N95 8gb has great build quality as it is no longer an issue as it is greatly improved it will also have better battery life due to demand paging, and a great Music Interface and from what i have seen better Album art. The Music Player due to the more powerful processor will be much better unless the W960 really is a step up from the W950 but as it is basically the same hardware just with some extra Ram i some how doubt it will be.
As the N95 8gb with Music encoded @256kbps AAC listening with Shure EC2g headphones it is good enough to replace my 5th gen iPod.
Video playback as well as recording will also be better as also is the Safari browser compared to Opera not forgetting whilst the W960 has 384kbps speeds the N95 8gb will have up to 3.6mbps which is over 9 times faster and for all this you will have to pay more for the W960. The Camera is also better being 5mp as opposed to 3.2mp. In fact there really isn't a single spec that is better on the W960 except for below.
The one and only thing the W960 has over the N95 8gb is a touchscreen which makes it harder to use in sunlight or bright lighting conditions that' a lot of compromise to make for a Walkman touchscreen.
Not forgetting the N95 8gb has already had it's first Firmware and has no problems i some how doubt that will be true of the W960 and we are all aware just how long SE take to release new firmware.
I know which one i would go for and already have and lastly the N95 8gb will also boot and open apps much faster and is very stable and fast in all it does.
But at the end of the day their is no right or wrong choice only what suits the individual user best it's just what you claimed is not supported by facts. Here are some screenshots of the Music Player and Album art from the N95 8GB.

Ive had the N95 Dogman so i know more or less whats its music system is like. To be honest even the N95 8gb has its isues with build quality. Its not as rife as with the original one but there is still some little loosness after a few weeks. I simply dont like this in sliders as it makes the phone feel cheap. Also the interface isnt as good for handling music and videos compared to walkman 3 imo. Everyone has their opinion so you cant really say im wrong as its just my opinion.
And btw i never had any troubles reading my p1 screen in sunlight or using the touch screen for that matter.

Fair enough but you were the one claiming that the W960 was going to better and as far as i am aware the W960 doesn't have a DSP (digital signal processor) does it? unlike the the OMAP 2420 powered N series devices. So just how does it have better Music quality then ? as i have tried both a W880 and W950 and like many on this Forum found not only the volume to be lacking but also the sound stage to not be very good either both lacking depth and clarity.
As for this wonderful Walkman 3 app despite a few requests i have still to see anyone post shots of it. So whilst you may have your preference which is of course fine by me i really don't understand how you claim an as yet an unreleased device with no DSP is going to be better is all i am saying as going by previous Walkman devices i really doubt it.
The same goes for Video playback on a less powerful machine with a smaller screen with less colours and being a touchscreen less quality than a non touchscreen it seems hard to justify your claims.
None of which means it may not be a good device or even perfect for you just not better than a N95 8GB is all i am saying. Really on release it will be interesting to compare the two devices but from specs it is well behind the N95 8gb on all but having a Touchscreen.
