Please stop this crap... theres only a couple things brix can do... buy branded voda phone or mtn branded phone... or he can buy cheaper phones that werent worth branding!!!! its his choice...
he doesnt buy tahir and vodas marketing..but he is obviously gona have a bad impression on voda just becoz of other members on esato!!!
and one more thing... cell companies dont care about me or you or the other technical cellphone users.... its for the masses and what they want and need!
in the end they want to sell phones and contracts thats all!!

@mamba: Were u standing around all this time without making your voice heard? What kind of Nigerian are you? BTW congratulations to all the regulars on our thread reaching this milestone.
Just heard that SE won't allow the upcoming W800i to be branded.
My next phone will be 3G but I won't be forced to use Voda if they persist with branding their 3G handsets, will switch over to any other network and keep my old phone number due to number portability.

@ Brix. You still have to learn alot. The W800i is NOT A 3G PHONE and number porting is not as easy as you think. In number porting the networks have to decide if they will put your number on their network

Just gotta say that i love my V800, but after seeing pics of the Z800 firmware, my V800 will be changing to a Z800 as soon as my T28 cable arrives.
Why worry about branded phones? Just keep buying SE, they are the easiest to unlock and de-brand.
On a side note for All MTN users, my dad just ordered his P910i. FREE on PROCALL120. If i had known, i might have changed to MTN.
Anyway, converted another Blokia user anyway :)

After 10 yrs of using cell phones, I have never ONCE needed a warranty claim on any of my phones.
The only time I have needed a repair, was after my GF slammed my Blokia 2110i in the boot sill of my car.
So check the worry in my eyes about loosing my warrant
How much can a repair cost anyway? That is if it is even covered by a warranty...

LOL@Tahir: Don't think MTN/Cell C will turn me away if I want to sign up with my old Voda number. I think I absolutely love SE, the only other brand I might go for a Blokia...but with loads of hesitation.

In the US you can have your landline number as your mobile number and vice versa...that's the magic of deregulation. In many ways Telkom is protected by stupid laws that are in actual fact detrimental to the growth of our economy. That's just my two cents.
