Taken during my lunch hour today, first up the K550i in the local CPW store:

...and somewhat boring Nokia 6300..a first slim-cellphone by the Finnish giant:

Taken inside the local Orange store, first up is LG's bling 'Shine':

..and tiny (only 79mm in height) ama-cheap-cheap Sagem:

...and Motorola's new 'starterpack' offering, taken inside the local Phones4U store:

Haha... I guess that gives me the honour of posting the 9999th post then?

Anyway, @wanqa, just checked out the link you included and you are right, the K750's the top-selling PAYG phone in the UK. Well, not that the statistics matter much, since I see someone holding a K750 around every corner here in Singapore. Heh... The Nokia 6300 as you have mentioned, is probably the slimmest phone from Nokia at the moment. Do they have a slimmer phone in their entire history, just out of curiosity.

@HOBBS, do post some pictures of your brand new toy when you get it. Enjoy your new toy!

@ deluded,
The 6300, at 11.7mm, is the thinnest-ever Nokia to date.

@ HOBBS,
Congrats on your new UIQ smartphone...as deluded mentioned, enjoy it!

Not sure if you're bothered with free themes, wallpapers, etc., but there's plenty to choose from at www.zedge.net . You have to register once though, and there's no catches.
Let us know how you get on with your P990.

Okay, an article about Vodacom's price cuts:
http://www.mybroadband.co.za/nephp/?m=show&id=5845

Up to 61% on their 2GB package? Not bad!

I wonder if I will benefit from it in any way...or at least, soon.

Thanks for the heads-up @wanqa. The 6300, as you've mentioned, has a boring design. But I kinda like its simplicity, looks solid too. Of cos, it has decent specs as well, on paper, since I haven't had the chance to lay my hands on one.

Still, my sights are set on the K810i. I've got a habit of setting my sights on the one phone I really want, then wait patiently for the bugs to be ironed out and for the price to fall before I get it. I don't need to have the latest phone in the market, just the phone that suits my needs. It's what happened with my Nokia 6510, 3230, as well as my current K750i (which I may add, is my favourite phone of the lot so far).

Anyway, here's a picture I took some time ago. It's an expressway near my university, and I took it one Sunday as I was leaving school. One of the rare times when there were no vehicles on it, I knew I just had to whip out my K750i and capture it.

@ deluded,
It's a pity that it hasn't got the Series 60 platform, which would have broadened its appeal.
As it is, it's not much more than a thinner, slightly tweeked version of the 6233.

BTW, your K750i picked up the perspective (and the peripheral detail) of the motorway very well in both pics there.

Thanks @wanqa, I think the K750 takes great pictures in the day too. Hmm.. Having used an S60 phone previously, I'd have to agree with you that having a S60 OS would have made the 6300 much more attractive. Personally though, I was quite happy to get my K750i after my 3230. The Symbian OS undoubtedly, is a very powerful and stable system, but it was quite a refreshing change for me when I enjoyed the quick response on my K750i.
