Yeah, just plug in the new card and the old one will be automatically disable, ofcourse, there are some wires to be changed thats all. Which card are you buying anyway?

@niru - yep u better get em scanned elsewhere
@blu - go to the device manager, select the device->rightclick->properties and in the drop down box at the bottom, disable the device
@govi - i have 2 sound cards in my system, one built-in and one add-on and installing one does not disable the other... both can work at the same time, i only have to select which card i want to use in the Sound properties window

I was in kerela, had to visit kumarakom, me and 2 cousins, we stayed at backwater ripples, very nice resort, my cuz took lotsa pics, cant wait to share them.
