Since Fatreg previously mentioned that the 8310's gold contacts will charge in a deskstand; I'm assuming he meant it won't connect to the PC via those contacts.

Those that want a deskstand, do you usually sync/backup via Bluetooth?

I hardly ever connect mine to my PC, as I don't have any appointments/calender notes/contacts to sync. All my contacts are backed up to the phone and SIM and thats good enough for me


I might try that one off ebay Nanu, looks more to be in 'my' price range, coz as C nicely put it, I'm a real skinflint
