you can debrand your phone by flashing it with a generic firmware.

here's a tutorial for flashing the phone: Tutorial: Flashing A2 phones.

here are the firmware's file(FS and MAIN) and the custom:

MAIN: http://www.4shared.com/file/6[....]MAIN_GENERIC_SO_RED52.html?s=1

FS: http://www.4shared.com/file/9[....]035_FS_APAC-ANZ_RED52.html?s=1

hye i have a problem when i charge the phone i get a charging error and i am told to stop charging. it usually stops at 95-98 % , after i restart the phone and ai restart the charge it goes up to 100 % . the odd thing is that after i get the error nothing works : allarms, calls , nothing. what is the source of this problem?

Fully drain your battery , or plug directly ~9 volt to it ( + is lighter , - black sometimes )

Got my k850i back yesterday. It had hardware problem and after more than a month it got replaced. The one I got was still vodafone branded and gave 1 brod yesterday and 1 today.

It currently has R1FA035 vodafone branded installed.

Do you think debranding will help at all?

I had no brods with my vf branded k850 but i got lots of restarts and the phone was very very sluggish.

I would defiantly debrand. Not one thing gone wrong with it since

Thanx SE Freak I did Debrand on Friday last week and it is much better. I got one restart within about 5 hours and after that never again.

The phone is very sluggish indeed, but I've gotten used to it. I wish Sony Ericsson would realize the problem with this firmware and release proper firmware (I know the phone is old but still a lot of people use it).

Cheers!
