but 2 write such things 4m 6600 is difficult.
and my broadband bsnl sucks as far as data transfr
is consernd---just 1gb(DL + UL) 4 500/mth. That 2 mostly at pathetic speds of
So i wana do that 4m free airtel gprs. At least i wil get ~45kb/s as i get on my cel ,4 free !!!!

hey alan i got thru without any modem installtation and new connection setup!!!

just dialed bluetooth dun modem connection on ivt bluesoleil screen window

after adding string-
AT+CBST=0,0,1;+CHSN=6,0,0,0;+CGDCONT=,,"airtelfun.com"
in that bluetooth dun modem properties
connected at 921.6kbps !!! bad joke
got sppeds around 4-6kBps using N6600 !!!!

still, thanks 2 alll!!!!

NOW I WILL BE POSTING MOST EASIEST WAY 2 GET COONECTED USING NOKIA 6600 WITH BLUE SOLEIL BT DONGLE !!! AT ONE PLACE !!!

ACTUALLY, u and spartan have done a great job !!!
BUT instead information is scattered in those long 68 pages &thus misleads!!!
MAY BE due 2 crap posted by some disgusting people here!!!

FOR ALL NOKIA 6600 USERS---
HERE R THE EASY THINGS REQUIRED 2 GET FREE AIRTEL LIVE-------------------
1)ACTIVATE AIRTEL LIVE BY SMSING PRE AIRTEL LIVE TO 676 FOR PREPAID
AND ON POSTPAID ITS ALREADY ACTIVATED. IF NOT SEND POST AIRTEL LIVE 2 646.
UR LIVE AS WELL AS MMS WILL GET ACTIVATED .no need 2 send 2nd sms for mms settings. (else each sms wil cost u 1 re) it will activate by itself and u will get a confirmation!!

2)ensure after this the gprs--"""G""" signal is present on ur cell main screen instead of "T" shaped anteena!!!

3)now , if u get settings from airtel as sms don't save them
and put settings manually as follows(this is 2 prevent u frm any confusion developing as a results of many settings saved in accesspoints menu) :--
GO TO SETTINGS>CONNECTION>ACCESS POINTS AND MAKE a ACCESS POINT NAMED-- AIRTEL LIVE 1
DATABEARER-GPRS
APN(access point name)--airtelfun.com
username/password-blank
authentication-normal
home page -http://live.airtelworld.com
THEN PRESS OPTIONS>
advanced settings
PHONE IP-AUTOMATIC
PRIMARYNAME SERVER-0.0.0.0

PROXY SERVER ADD-100.1.200.99
PROXY PORT NO--8080
CLICK OK/SAVE

Connection string can be added automatically using "Nokia Modem Options" in the control panel(if its not there, then u can download it from nokia's website). Or there is no need to have connection string. Just set airtelfun.com in Menu->Tools->Settings->Connection->GPRS->Access Point.
So now I understood the real problem.

Anyways, I'm very happy that it worked for u. Welcome to the Free GPRS world.

4) NOW AGAIN GOTO SETTINGS >CONNECTON>OPTIONS> NEW ACCESSPOINT>USE EXISTING SETTINGS>AND SELECT AIRTEL LIVE 1

THEN CHANGE THE NAME FROM AIRTEL LIVE 1(01) TO AIRTEL LIVE 2!!!
AND EXIT.

5)NOW 2 BROWSE NET ON CELL install OPERA LATEST VERSION on cell(that gives a good experience than inbuilt suckin browser)

in opera settings in CONNECTION SELECT- USE DEFAULT
AND IN DEFAULT CONNECTION SELECT--AIRTEL LIVE 1

I WANT EVERYBODY HAVIN 6600 HERE 2 KNOW THAT THESE SETTINGS AND ALL WHAT I M POSTING WILL HELP U 2 PREVENT URSELF WASTING ENERGY ON DOING UNNECESSARY THINGS AND ALL !!!!
THEY WILL HELP U ACCESS FREE AIRTEL LIVE WITH MINIMUM EFFORT!!!

GO FOR BT DONGLE,INSTEAD OF INFRARED WHICH IS SLOW IN DATA TRANSFER !!!
1) GO AND GET A CLASS 1 BLUETOOTH DONGLE(PRERABLY WITH 100M RANGE FOR example BILLINTON'S with external antenna 4 bettr reception )

2)RUN THE IVT BLUESOLEIL SETUP ON THE CD WHICH COMES WITH BT DONGLE FIRST B4 CONNECTING THE DONGLE ITSELF (VERY IMP STEP ON WINDOWS XP)
3) NOW AFTER INSTALLATION INSERT BT DONGLE
4)U WILL SEE THE IVT BLUESOLEIL WINDOW IN FRONT OF U WITH A SOLAR SYSTEM LIKE PICTURE !!
LOWER RIGHT CORNER OF THE SCREEN WILL FLASH MESSAGES LIKE BLUETOOTH STARTED, ETC

5)NOW SWITCH ON UR BLUETOOTH IN CONNECTON FOLDER IN MENU OF UR PHONE AND VISIBILITY SHD BE SHOWN 2 ALL.

6) NOW GOTO CONTROL PANEL ON PC AND OPEN PHONE AND MODEM OPTIONS>MODEMS>AND SELECT BLUETOOTH DUN MODEM AND THEN ITS PROPERTIES >ADVANCED>EXTRA INITIALIZATION STRINGS AND INPUT THIS EXACTLY---
AT+CBST=0,0,1;+CHSN=6,0,0,0;+CGDCONT=,,"airtelfun.com"
NOW PRESS OK AND EXIT

7) NOW PRESS F5 ON IVT MAIN WINDOW> IT WILL SEARCH FOR BT DEVICES
AND UR CELL'S NAME WILL GET LISTED.
NOW RIGHT CLICK UR CELL ON THE WINDOW AND SELECT> REFRESH SERVICES
THEN RIGHT CLICK BLUETOOTH DIAL UP NETWORKING SERVICE IN ICONS ABOVE ( IN THAT WINDOW ONLY) AND SELECT CONNECT.

PLZ MAKE SURE THAT BEFOR CONNECTING ""G" SIGNAL IS PRESENT ON UR SCREEN AND REALLY ACTIVE .(bcoz sometimes it is present but gprs signal at that time is not available)
SO 2 BE FULLPROOF PRESS RED BUTTON FOR 2 SECONDS ON UR 6600 AND THAT "G" SIGNAL WILL GO OFF,
THEN WAIT FOR IT TO COME BACK OR PRESS *123#
WHEN REQUEST WILL GET OVER NORMALLY "G" SIGNAL WILL BE BACK ON UR SCREEN..
IF NOT, Wait 4 few seconds .

10) THEN LOWER RIGHT CORNER OF SCREEN WILL FLASH MESSAGE BLUETOOTH DUN CONNNECTED AT 115KbPS

11) ITS BETTER TO USE OPERA AS BROWSER ON PC ALSO, AS MY ADVICE !!!

SO GET LATEST VERSION FROM http://www.opera.com

AND IN ITS TOOLS>PREFERENCES>ADVANCED>NETWORK>CLICK PROXY SERVER
AND CHECK MARK ABOVE 7 OPTIONS AND

IN ABOVE 5 OPTIONS ENTER 100.1.200.99 AND PORT=8080
AND CLICK OK/SAVE-- THIS IS 2 BE DONE ONCE ONLY !!!

12) NOW JUST PRESS "0" ON UR CELL AND IT WILL CONNECT THRU AIRTEL LIVE 2

13) NOW ENTER ANY SITE ON OPERA, IT WILL OPEN EASILYYYYYYYYYY !!!!

14) YHOOMAAAAAAA !!!!!!!!!
CONGRATS INTO NEW AIRTEL FREE NET WORLD!!
