Im alot more concerned about the UI than the OS. Customers wont care as much if it takes that extra 2 seconds to process something if it looks pretty, for example.

i disagree, i think Customers would want things to happen straight away and now have to wait on some eye candy, at first it might be cool and some thing to show off, but after a while i think it would be very very annoying.

The iphone is a one off product in that it is the only one to have such a unique interface. This year we will see other similar interfaces from other manufacturers, then you can properly judge. But I am saying there is no question that a good looking UI will have more impact on the average consumer than a slightly improved spec sheet.

On one of the early FW releases for the P990i,
let you choose if you would want transition effects or not... Turning them off made the phone a lot quicker... Soo... Maybe putting in an option like that would sell a phone for cool effects, and when every friend of the owner have seen these "eyecandies", he can turn them off for more performance...
