Agreed, just a wishlist. But i do think that how complete and compeling the camera package is will greatly influence the success, in a competitive context. I would prioritize the flash below low light sensitivity anyway, meaning sensor tech, pixel size and aperture are more important.
In particular if they launch or tease it as part of a camera event, it would be akward that it does not perform better than HTC one, iphone 5s, or is a distant second to Nokia EOS.
From the latest xperia market share numbers it seems that sony is recovering it's mojo, at least in japan.
But they will need to make it happen outside Japan, and prove it is not only due to docomo subsidies.

Is any of that XR4 or XR5 info? Is the Honami really release right at the end of June/right at the very start of July?

I don't see the problem with putting a xenon flash. If there is going to be a hump from a big sensor, might as well even out that raised space and add a xenon flash. However, if removing xenon would make the device thinner in general, I don't really need it. It's nice to have, but ultimately you don't want to use flash in general unless you have to, and from the photos I've seen, I honestly don't see a big difference between LED and xenon if the subject is close enough. For farther distances, you will need a big xenon flash, which is impractical in a thin smartphone. Sony in marticular is going for super thin in their current Xperia lineup, so Honami should be no different.
If Sony doesn't come out with something soon, I'll have to end up with the Lumia EOS from Nokia. The large 41MP sensor is probably better than what Sony is planning for the Honami, but it's saddled with too many sacrifices. For one I don't particularly like the thick and heavy design of Nokia's phones. The leaked shots of the EOS and previous experience from the 808 Pureview all lead to a very large and unattractive hump that also significantly hampers ergonomics and pocketability. Nokia fanboys are making fun of the Galaxy S4 Zoom by calling it a tumor, but the EOS doesn't look much better, looking like a 920 that had a tumor growing out of its back. At least the S4 Zoom looks proportional and easy to hold. The 4.5" screen on the EOS is also far too small to make an enjoyable capturing and viewing experience with the camera. And of course it's saddled with Windows Phone, which I don't like at all, and lags behind iOS and Android in features and apps.
The Honami is my only salvation from having to choose a rather unsettling Nokia device. From my use with a Galaxy S3 and Note 2, I think 5" is the perfect smartphone size, and having 1080p on a camera-phone is probably unprecedented. Let's just hope Sony opts for the nice IPS that was on the Japanese version of the Xperia Z instead of the crappy one on everyone else's. Honestly, the poor display on the Xperia Z is a dealbreaker, and it has been a dealbreaker for every Xperia device I've tried to own. The black levels are also very very bad. Sony needs to stop putting such terrible displays on their phones. Even budget smartphone makers that sell $200 phones have IPS displays.
The other thing Honami has over the EOS is that Sony is a far better hardware company when it comes to making slimmed down devices. Nokia is barely managing, and their first attempt at making a thin device, the Lumia 925, is questionable at best with its pop out back. The EOS with its beefy 920 shell and large tumor back is just not appealing as a smartphone. The smaller sensor of the honami with Sony's smartphone making cred should make for a far more pleasingly slim and solid device that looks a million times better. The sensor may not be as big as the EOS, but it is significantly bigger than what regular smartphones come with, and similar to dedicated high end cameras like the well regarded Lumix LX7. It's big enough to where any size increase has very marginal if not imperceptible returns for most people.
It's also well possible that the Honami will have superior imaging to the EOS even with a smaller sensor and slimmer body. The RX100, which is the best P&S camera on the market right now, and the smallest pocketable camera with a 1" sensor, is made by Sony. Their entire camera lineup in general is superb. Such a well entrenched and highly experienced camera maker like Sony should have some tricks up its sleeve to trump Nokia's smartphone imaging. Nokia doesn't sell dedicated cameras after all, and most of their imaging cred is from a market where they never had to compete because no one else was remotely interested.
I really hope Sony comes out with a copmetition smashing and unique product with Honami, one that I won't have any reservations in buying. The heavy and mysterious name itself screams of far too much potential to be yet another mediocre product. I am really tired of what the market has to offer right now, especially in the camera-phone department. I really want this to be a breakout success, on many levels.

Sony can't have a serious camera phone without Xenon. Good sensor is only half way.
