I WANN MAKE FEW THINGS CLEAR--
1) NO NEED TO INSTALL NOKIA BLUETOOTH MODEM IN PHONE AND MODEM CONNECTIONS>ADD MODEM.
2) NO NEED TO CREATE A NEW DIAL UP CONNECTION "AIRTEL" ETC O N PC
3) NO NEED TO INSTALL ANY NOKIA SOFTWARE LIKE NOKIA MODEM OPTIONS From nokia site, ETC
4) THEY just wil add 2 ur problems.
I M WRITIN THIS ALL AT 12.37 AM AND SUFFERING FROM SORE THROAT WITH FEVER AROUND 100 F.
JUST ONLY 2 HELP U ALL SO THAT U DONT GET CONFUSED BY SO MANY POSTS IN THIS TOPIC !!!!

but alan dont u think its easy 2 just add a little string instead of finding and instalin proper softwar "nokia modm options"
and then instalin a nokia6600 bluetuth modem in phone and modem options
& then makin a new cnection "airtel" in network conection window
& even then not able 2 conect like in my case.

y wil airtl pepl wil barr u!!!
if u hav a gprs enable cel,then probali u havnt activatd ur airtl live conection
or there must b prblm wid setings
bcoz 4 the 1st time i iad heard that ne1 has prblem in surfin live on cel !!!!
Hav u ever b4 surfd live on ur cel ????

3)i supose those r 800B than b i.e. 0.8KB/s but they stil r very low.6600 supports around 4-6kBps.
What r ur speds when usin on ur cel ?find out maximum in menu>connect>conction managr>options>details
while dwnldin a file.
then i wil b abl 2 know that problm is in cel/conection/pc ???
which bt dongle r u usin and folowd vich method ?

But while dailing *99***1# or *99***1# it gives me error 692.
Can any one help me.
I am staying hostel in IISc and what net connection in my room.

ya i know edge cn giv speeds around 10-14 kBps
but presenty i m short f money 2 upgrade.
i wil directly buy i mate k jam next year !!!!
BTW I m still getin avg f 5kBps & max f 7kBps sometimes !!!!
