My cheap i-mobile 902 (with a 5MP CCD sensor by Sony) beats the expensive Nokia N95 easily when it just comes to photo quality.
The size of the sensor has greater impact on the pic quality than typ of sensor (CCD vs. CMOS). The greater pixel density and the smaller pixles, the worse picture (less details and more noise). I believe this better explains why 902 (is that a Sharp ??) delivers better pictures than K850 (too few pictures to compare with) and N95, rather than putting emphasize on the sensor size.

@Arne Anka:
Not Sharp. It is i-mobile, a Thai company but OEM from Asus. Sony 5 MP CCD image sensor in the camera. I posted a few basic samples shot in full auto mode in the
Photos section. Compare these with the K850i samples.

Here's a close up of the d-pad:
Make what you want of the picture, but it looks as though it's touch activated.

I believe you when you say 902 takes excelent pictures, but still we have only seen two samples from what is claimed to be a K850 pictures of some early prototype and I still believe the sensor size has a greater impact on the pic quality than type of sensor (how big sensor you choose depends on how much space you can spare).
Do you by any chance have a link to the full spec of 902 ?

What does the noise mean when a picture is taken?
A lot of people are saying less noise is better. What is noise?

Noise is small dots on a picture. Its like bad reception on TV.

Noise is apparent by the presence of color speckles where there should be none. For example, instead of a blue sky, you notice faint pink, purple and other color speckles amongst the otherwise blue sky.

i dont know if theres a language thing there "touch" and a physical button that you have to depress are being used synonymously but there are 3 keys that are "touch/heat" sensitive and then the "d-pad" is an actual button that has to be pressed in a given direction to move the cursor. if by touch meaning you have to touch it to use it, yes but you have to push it down as well. watch the 40 youtube videos, youll see that the d-pad moves/leans when pressed, its a physical button.

The only specs I have seen listed are
here, and a little bit more
here.
I'm also curious to find out exactly which model of Sony's sensors have been used. But I doubt that it would be anything as large as used in Sony's regular digital cameras. The lens on the 902 is about the same size as seen in the K750 and P990, and focal depth can't be very different as the phone is
exactly the same size as the K850(!), hence the limits on the sensor size.
In any case, I do not recommend the 902 over the K850, unless you are only concerned about the camera and do not care about all the other aspects of the phone.
And that was the last I covered on this topic before anyone start bitchin' again about being off-topic in this thread.

I don't know about the M2 cards, but the K850 also takes the microSD which is available in 2GB (and larger in SDHC format).
