generic FW is made for phone across the globe without any limitations or modifications whereas the branded version is made with a modification to the generic FW for specific purposes or requirements as determined by the operator thus giving a "new" FW version. IN GENERAL the generic FW is a more complete version compare to the branded one.

i never tried any branded version but in terms of FW/Software performance both are the same provided they are on the same FW platform. in terms of features available it depends on your operator as mentioned by hihihans...

recently i came across this firmware - K850_R1BA030_MAIN_GENERIC_SO
What is this firmware.. is it for all k850s or for specific model...
may be this is a very old FW..
any ideas anyone..?

hi guys.can we flash the k850 with another softwear?or can we make it as the k750 or k810 but save the feuter things of the k850.because the old phones stay normal when we run much than 1 app i mean the memory not efficts as it go dead some time in k850

oh bad news..any way iam useing the 037 now.its much faster than 035.but what make me to think of that when i see the z710i how it fast and flixble and without hang or restart.even when copying sim card cont its much faster than k850 even i use the same sim card on the k850 but its slower.and that why i feel frusted.any way its good now with 037 but i was looking for somthing much beter.thank you any way

guys.i discoverd somthing make the k850 much faster and powerfull.once before my phone has lost some files from the softwear.i dont know how.but i get the missed files agine and used the a2uploader to put them back.then i notice that the phone be faster and dont take so much time after reinsert the memory.every thing was go fast.but i was couldnt open the sms menu.then after i put the sms things agine the phone back slow agine.and today.i try to do the same.but to delet that sms files manualy.then i try and delet any sms thing useing a2uploader.and its work with me.and no problem with open sms menu what i remmber that i delete what in this file. system/settings/messaging/sms. i delet what inside it not the folders.just the files.and i delete some els files i dont remmber where.but its all abut sms files.and now i tryed and run opera v5 and opera mod 2.06 and opera mini 4.2 and opera mod 3.12 and another app and i used eatch opera app and open pages and no hangs or restart .then i take the memory out and reinsert it.its take so less time than first.and faster to open it after reinsert it.i hope it will work with all...by the way iam useing r1fa037 softwear
edite.: iam sorry guys the write sms menu will not come if you did that.but for me iam useing free sms via web site net
you can read inbox and send mms and mails but not write sms
edite 2:guys..it dont let you to receive sms too..ufff forget that ..

Just get K850 quicksilver black last night with fw R1EA037, multi tasking damm so fast, touch pad so responsive and accelerometer change orientation on 2 sec!!!!! Should move to R1FA035??
