I've had my W810i for over 2 years now and really want to upgrade to a better phone. The coming-soon G900 is very appealing, but it lacks GPS, which is very disappointing, as this is a feature I would use a lot, as I'm always getting lost!

I know there's the HGE-100 accessory, to get GPS functionality, but I've heard things about it like the software is crap, or you have to have an ongoing subscription payment to the service, or that it's internet-based or whatever.

Is it actually any good, and therefore, would the G900 in conjunction with this device give me all I need or should I look for a different phone that has it all?

i had the g900 for two days and i am loven it ... i had w960i i thought i would miss it but i don't anymore. i like the looks of w960i is sexy elegent unique but its too big for my pocket and very sensitive screen. G900 is lighter and not as sensitive as the w960i. thats my openion

... And HTC has announced the Touch Pro. Indeed it is almost a copy of the X1, slightly heavier and smaller screen, but i bet it'll be cheaper and it comes out in late summer!

I think august/september will be the best time to decide what to buy next..

50% of the RnD fund for those phones come from the Operators
SE is the OEM for the operators, the leading brand is still "DoCoMo" or "AU" for example

NTT DoCoMo SO906i by SonyEricsson
or
SonyEricsson SO906i for NTT DoCoMo
not
SonyEricsson SO906i by NTT DoCoMo

so it's not SE's decision to export these phones, they don't have the right to

Bav:
has anyone asked that question before? Yes I have, face to face, just 2 days ago... or almost everytime i meet them heh
we both shrugged our shoulders and laughed
just being happy with how things are as they are

operations come first in Japan

btw, the AU RE is indeed the w63S, that's how it's coded in brackets, AU RE is only a stick-on nickname

then Sam i implore you to ask this question.

Why do they believe that the segmentation of the best features in the phones will cannibalize their sales, what are their plans for creating the Ω series (ALL IN ONE) CELL/CAMERA/VIDEO/AUDIO/GPS/NET device? Give something back to the gearheads who want a well made device by a competent company instead of having to compromise with their mid tier offerings (K850/W960) why should i HAVE choose b.w WiFi + HDD and 5MPx. There should be a unit above those, if you offer them separately than you offer them together, at a higher price.

it is IMPOSSIBLE to tell me that a 10" laptop (there are SOOO MANY (computex)) for >$500usd but a cellphone cant be?

how hard is it to USE the exmor sensor surely DoCoMo doesnt own any part of sony's dslr manufacturing.

i have more but an answer would be obliged.

Would operators not be prepared to fund SE in the same way if it meant exclusivity?

Surley they would be more popular with those types of phones.
