It is confirmed that it has nothing to do with any Xperia phone, at least for this year.
The exterme simplicity will be the major element for this year's flagship phone.

@Ricky, thanks for reminding us of the W960. I can now visualize honami much better. I just find it too hard to imagine how one would be able to put interchangeable lens on that ring. I mean, there will be some sort of a groove which will destroy the overall design, am I right?

4.2.2 is the best it will get. 5.0 isn't even out yet and isn't expected to be released by google until october. Honami is expected to be available before then. Even if Honami were released in october, it STILL wouldn't get 5.0 since google reserves that special privilege for its nexus devices.
so you're lookin at 4.2.2 at best.

There is some new info that Honami will not be sold in China before the end of the year, so the earlier "plan" of Honami being sold by July in Chinese market probably no longer exists.
