Yeah, I get that too. My solution is to plug in a network cable and after 5 mins it sorts itself out.

Sounds like a motherboard fault to me, laptops still use the PCI architecture for sound, wifi etc. even though you can't physically plug cards into the bus like you can with a desktop PC.

Have you got anything plugged into the PCMCIA slot(s) such as a wireless adaptor? If so, it could be down to that too.

EDIT: Just remembered, it might be worth checking the CMOS battery voltage too since a duff battery can cause BIOS to screw up, causing similar problems!

I think you might have to send it off because it's not one of the normal Windows errors, this sounds more hardware like to me. Still, you could try loading BIOS defaults if you haven't already but I don't think it'll solve it

Hi Cycovision,

I dont know if you can help, but my MSN wont sign me in but my windows messenger will. My cousin told me to put this weired looking code as my private message, saying it would give me all the winks. I didnt really care but it looked preety cool so I did it. It then signed me out, I thought good joke mate, he did it to sign me out for a laugh. But after it wouldnt let me sign in again. He's gone away for a month and has a new SIM so I cant contact him. Any ideas on how to sort the problem out. Windows messenger is a pain.

Regards KingBooker5
