Thanks Prom1 and Aeronautico for the reply... So it is doable, but just getting your mail via pop through the in-built client is not possible over wifi, I understand.... Strange why they would put in this limitation. On symbian phones this limitation does not exist.

So now... do I go for the sexy, classy looking SE W995 with limited features, or for the bland, dull but feature packed N86.... aaah, the agony of choice...

Can always use a browser to check your email w wifi

Everyone has a different need on mobile. For me, I am happy to switch from N95-2 to W995. Better camera, better music (deeper bass), torchlight, better messaging/text, smart dialing, louder earphone at busy street, faster and friendly UI and pleasing to the eye.

Used to have a black one, but get bored and change to silver. Metal with walkman orange accent looks nicer.

True, but a web interface does not allow me to take a picture and immediately mail it to my wife, correct? I would have to take the picture, open up the gmail application (does this come with the phone, btw, or you have to separately install it?), create a new e-mail, attach picture and send it.... just seems so much more complex.

But wow, man, that w995 of yours looks soooo good.

... but not via wifi, as others have confirmed, and since my carrier does not provide data plans, wifi is the only way for me to do anything online with my phone.

@teaumaz
If you're so desperate for a Symbian device with 8MP camera, why not go for Innov8? I did and every single cent I forked out was a cent well spent.

Otherwise go for a C905 or W995.

@islandprd thanks for you reply. I like the black but silver one also looks damn good with orange mix. If the same orange touch goes for the black make it more wonderful.
But in my country all stores have silver i'm waiting for black.

Is this confirmed for unbranded phones as well? This sounds suspiciously like a service provider's ploy to force users to buy data plans or I could be wrong and its just incompetence on SE's part.
