here u go guys....the whole thing was indeed an eye opener for me....never seen *or been* anywhere with that pack a crowd....like friggin sardines

Throng of celebrators

This is kinda how batu caves looks at nite *from the river's edge*

It starts with a shave, both young n old qualify

The sinead o'connor look rulez

Look Pa!! No hair!!

Space is a luxury so devotees make their prayers/offerings anywhere they can....on the ground that is

Once shaved, its off to the showers....mind you the pipes are fed from h20 drawn from the nearby river...i honestly wudn't touch that with a 10 m pole...but then again i'm faithless

let's scrub that bald patch more

devotees come in all shape, size n age.....so does the kavadi

some opt for a lighter 'burden'

others like this fella is more extreme...he's into body piercing

his pal seems to dig this stuff as well

A normal sized headgear....

a larger peacock feathered one....

or u cud try this heavy duty one instead....its all up to you

All in it was tough shootin considering the crowd and the fear of gettin pushed off the river bank, damaging your equipment, toes stomped on etc

hope u enjoy the 1st person perspective...i highly recommend the trip at least once to those that hafn't attended before.....

Weapon of choice: Nikon deseventy, 18-70mm kit lens & 70-200mm vr

Frankly speaking, I've never there during Thaipusam. And your pics shits, are really eye-openers. Thanks.

And my phone has already been sold. Thanks for all your interests.
