my konica minolta takes 3mps shots with size of 650 KB
it depends on the camera. btw, a lot of cams have no quality options for 'non-native' resolutions

i have an hp photosmart e317 that a bought for a couple of euros.

5.0 is not a VERY GOOD CAMERA. but it's really nice.

is it possible to change firmware, or change values? anybody knows?

this isn't good comparision on 1st and 3rd pic screen is white - better light better focus. on 2nd and 4th pic screen is dark, 4th pic have bad focus or it's shaked. but I know what you wan't to tell us... modified files are bigger in this situation. yes they are (93% and 91% quality) but is it really means something? as for me - both are crappy, even with 100% quality they will be and it's not compression. very high quality in compression will not improve sensor sensitivity etc.

Thanks for your reply =)) I hope once day there will be a better software for taking pictures, not only by updating the driver. Btw, what do you think about this software which is used for HDR in the other thread: http://grafmoto.narod.ru/hdr.htm Please tell me your opinion about the sharpness.
