@Cyco, you're right about ZoneAlarm, it's pretty paranoid at times. I've allowed Live Messenger to do its job now.

By the way, would I be better off using only McAfee VirusScan Enterprise rather than ZoneAlarm and AVG like I'm doing now? It seems McAfee requires me to uninstall any other anti-virus programs I have so I'm wondering if using just McAfee is good enough.

Personally I'm not of fan of mcafee products (except their standalone firewall) because we've had nothing but trouble with them in the workshop over the years. I'd stick with ZA and AVG, they're both lightweight and do the job well enough for most people

Ah, that's exactly what I was hoping to hear. (saves me the trouble of uninstalling and installing them

) Besides, I've not tried using McAfee previously, so I don't know exactly how effective they are at keeping my computer safe. Cheers, Cyco! Much appreciated!

I'm running a errr... borrowed copy of XP... and have been for about 4-5years now. I down loaded all the updates from day one and managed to get around the Genuine thingy the first time with the help of a mate and some software he installed.
Yesterday new updates were downloaded and when i went to install them it was a new Genuine thingy... So i pressed cancel. Is it safe to install them? Will what i did last time still be in effect? Or do you know a way around it this time?
Cheers
Burgaz

£120? Retail version or OEM? 32bit or 64bit? Daddy or chips?
