@ JC08,
LOL, I just got home and saw on the PC, under your username, a familiar 'Vanderbijlpark' mention... a change of username confirmed by previous posts too, W8--- er.. JC.

@ama - Nice report about those moto bike-fines . . . so, a bike can reach the speed of 295 km/h

I guess the bike's tires are NOT already touching the pavement at that speed

@ JC,
LOL no worries boet.
@ Jojo,
I guess we just missed each other last night.
As regards the speed, yes there are several standard production bikes out there that are capable of cracking the 300km/h barrier. However, since 2000, there has been a 'gentlemen's agreement' between the big Jap bike manufacturers to 'govern/ limit' the top speed to 300km/h.
When Suzuki launched their 1300cc Hayabusa (Japanese for peregrine falcon) in 1999, these bikes were just able to crack the 300km/h barrier, in ideal conditions. Some of the bureaucrats in Europe really started protesting at the rapidly increasing speeds being produced by production superbikes, which put pressure on the manufacturers to install electronic limiters later that year.
As such, the current Hayabusa, Kawasaki ZZR1400 etc. have the potential to reach the speed.
BTW, there are ways of 'confusing' the top end speed limiter on these bikes with certain aftermarket electronic 'black boxes'.
300km/h is quite enough though, but it's another example of how numbers and specs sell products to us ever-demanding humans.

Honestly any top speed up to 250 is more than enough for me as you always get the old come 'i'll turn out in front of you couple meters away and expect you to break from 300km/h' drivers lol those are the real maniacs so us able drivers have to compensate for these idiots by driving much slower than we normally could handle!when i learnt to drive i used to always drive at the limit...like fly past my house at 160 then break last min but then quickly learnt that you may be able to handle the car but you cant stop that kid running across the road!hehe needless to say i still drive fast but now i leave margin for corrective action to take place even if it's needed midway through a high speed bend.i love my driving.what's the fastest/nicest cars you guys have driven?

Yeah it is a worry when a relatively inexperienced newbie to superbikes forks out under R110 000 for a top-of-the-range, 300km/h missile as some kind of weekend toy...
That amount of power-to-weight ratio at one's disposal demands respect and experience.
About fast cars, no luck for me I'm afraid. Probably a suped-up BMW325i of a friend's back in SA, so no supercar experiences yet, unfortunately.
Almost all the cars I have driven are average, basic sedans/hatchbacks/ family cars.

People are going beserk outside here; The Hammers have pulled off one of the most phenomenal escapes from relegation, by beating ManUre (AGAIN

) at Old Trafford a few minutes ago. So they leapfrog up to 15th.
The fans are all singing "One Carlos Tevez..." an adaptation of that well-known Latino song. (They could give those Bulls fans a run for their money...

)
Ex-Charlton boss Alan Curbishley will be sleeping much better tonight.
Well done, West Ham. What an awesome run of form over the final 9 games of the Premiership, in stark contrast to the beginning of the year and the whole Tevez/Machareno debacle rubbing further salt into Hammers' wounds.. It matters nout now.

The fastest 4wheeled vehicle in which i've travelled was an Audi very similar to this one, a year or two ago, before Anthony Taylor switched to BMW. I was fortunate enough to have been one the winners in a radio quiz, and part of the prize involved zooming around the Aldo Scribante track with various drivers. I opted to go with Taylor, seeing that he looked so docile. Big mistake, lol. The dude flung us thru the Firestone Sweep as if the car had been attached to rails!
It was truly an experience discovering just how fast those vehicles can really go when there's a pro at the wheel. I'm telling you guys, after the first lap, as we approached Turn One i was firmly under the impression that he'd start braking when the marker boards came up...
I was convinced that when the 200m board came up he'd simply missed it, and that he'd start braking at 150m which flashed by unheeded... as did 100m and 75m.... next thing we were screaming thru Turn One at something which felt like 950km/h.
Thank heavens for those safety harnesses and helmets, honestly thought he was going to flip the car, lol.
Something interesting which i recall was when he mentioned that the racing slicks are so soft that they chemically bond to the surface of the track during a race, which assists in generating the remarkable speeds at which these guys move...
All in all it was a fantastic experience, one which i'd gladly repeat if i could.

Eish boet, that must've been awesome.
I'm sure the fact that Aldo Scribante happens to be quite a narrow racetrack didn't help to settle any nerves...
Guaranteed cure for constipation, I'm sure.

I had a hair-raising-experience in a suped up tow truck with a driver high on meth who hadnt slept in 4 days(me included) flying to a crash scene,going through red robots,driving on the wrong side of the road into oncoming traffic.Was not a happy experience for me.South African tow truck drivers are nut-cases.Nice thing though,is back in my day when I was naughty,he was my meth dealer and delivery was always swift.lol Miss those crazy days but glad to have them behind me.
