Shiho sounds great - hope its not too big - 12-14mm will be great if it has those specs under its belt.

It's just below 20 mm thick actually. Weighs a bit too.

m-one,

Some of that is not correct. And some is missing as well.

Nope, that's not correct. And didn't you just say "optical zoom is missing"? That's what I said was correct.

not jus looking at the 8mp...but the fact that its a non smartphone...still A300 platform...and has all those features (not sure which is not true tho..damn it). how many non-smartphones do u find with wlan?

The fact why doesnt non-smartphones comes with Wlan is beacuse no one cares to put one, on them because most of non smartphone cannot open/edit microsoft office and Pdf files. And by the way smartphones are going to be continuously gain market share(as per research data) as people would get bored of just listening to music and taking photos with their phones limited capability. What smarphone brings is functionality to create/edit ur microsoft office documents and which also includes pdf file support which makes sense putting a WLAN coupled with symbian os.Remember what the smartphone brings is security application, advanced call mangament and features, office application, lots of application and symbain games which are far advanced then java games.

I dont understand whats so great about shiho. Unless you want hardcore camera performance, there are better prospects with the likes of Paris/Beibei/G900/X series for the most parts. And if you do want hardcore camera performance, then just buy a camera lol. But to have a brick of a phone heavier than and the same approximate size as a digital compact camera, but just not very comparable on quality, sounds abit stupid at this point in time. When camera performance on mobiles becomes really stunning, enough so that they can unquestionably match a compact then fine. But till then, whats the point.

I understand it with business phones, you get some of the functions working just as well as on a PC (e.g. email, very basic office editing and viewing primarily). Walkman makes sense because youre getting the same audio quality (for the average user) as on an MP3 player anyway, and nowadays with pretty good music features. But when it comes to cameras, the end picture quality is what matters. Its all well and good to have a phone with good camera functions, but theres no point in it being a brick just because of the camera. Its the bulk of carrying something else with you that you are trying to avoid in the first place. So thats my opinion on Shiho. I think Eldar said a similar sort of thing about the 8Mpx (which IMO is also true, why would you want such a large picture if you dont have the pic quality to fully back it up, 5MPx is as big as is neccessary for now). So bring on Paris

BTW Tech expert, your arguement holds no water. You just dont need to open a doc file to enjoy watching a video on youtube, or go on Esato. Sigh you keep posting nonsense.

i think its only some business people who really care for that functionality...i don think most people would really wanna be walking around editing word documents and excel spreadsheets on such a tiny screen..it would get tiring very quick!!!...however WLAN would mean being able to access internet without using the mobile network..or being able to transfer files without a cable!!
