Hi,
Any speed improvement guys? If not then it's not really worth upgrading, Street View doesn't even work in the UK.

Not really used it long enough to notice too much difference. Hopefully the safari crashes will have been sorted. It seems a bit quicker but thats prob due to it being a fresh install

itunes just trashed my library although it did try to recover it.
I now have no apps, no podcasts and no music purchases.
clicking store -> check for available downloads just gives a message "all purchases have been downloaded for this account"!
I didn't notice while synching and it also therefore wiped all apps, purchased music etc from my iphone too!
Masseur.. if you can remember what your apps are.. they can be "purchased again" and this will not cost you a penny.... I have done that several times... maybe or maybe not on different devices

...
As for the music purchased... Happened to me before the times of the iPhone and I sent and email to customers services of itunes and explained the "crash" and although they adviced me that I should back up the music to disc etc... they did allow me to redownload them again.... but that was via a request...

thanks smiler... unfortunately I have way too many apps and music videos to do that individually, but having tried to restore a backup (which seems to have been done after the failure) I have now sent an email to the itunes team to sort out.
in the meantime I have now recreated my playlist and re-added all my podcasts (arrrggghh!)
on the other hand, 2.2 is working well so far and I do like the ability to download podcasts over the air

haha lol, unfortunate matey. I couldn't get it to work... dont think i was doing it properly. I only 'upgraded' and didnt fully restore, and when i rejailbroke and tried to hit restore in aptbackup it said it can only be done when the iphone has been restored. pff. Right clicked on restore from backup in itunes, and still didnt work.
Still trying to sort it all out bit by bit as i type... lol Almost there..
EDIT: Btw, why are you restoring anyway? Cos you were going to use aptbackup? Or are you restoring to custom firmware without the baseband update?

It's pretty much pointless any way really, it doesnt backup any settings from cydia apps, just literally names and will download them again. Could just write a list instead! I suppose the only thing is installing apps that you need to respring after installing them, can take forever to get there! Categories is my next task - takes fooking ages to get sorted!
