hi guys i have a few questions too, and i hope someone can help me

- what windows software do i use for the "network share" feature? i want to see/stream the files from my phone to my windows pc.
- why is there no "check for updates" menu option anymore?
- how can i get the "search" function to work? i can enter text, but then it redirects to my browsers homepage
- does someone have Yahoo Go! working on their w995 yet? yahoo says the w995 isnt supported yet.... so anyone has a .jar from the c905, and wants to share it? or a way to spoof the user agent detection?

i own a slightly T-mobile NL branded w995.

any help would be appriciated!

You can use firefox on your PC/Mac with the Add-On "User Agent Switcher" (works with FF 3.5 also).
Fill in the details like the following:
Description: SE K850i
User Agent: MIDP-2.1 Configuration/CLDC-1.1
App Code Name: (blank)
App Name: NetFront
App Version: 3.4 Profile
Platform:R1CA Browser
Vendor:SonyEricsson
Vendor Sub:K850i.

Save and once enabled goto Yahoo's GO site for download and download the java app. This doesn't mean it'll work on your W995 though.

Also don't forget to change it back to Default on Firefox (Tools> Default User Agent: Default or K850i to download mass apps with OTA links only).

10 days more to buy this phone for me...
and yesterday my fingers crossed over this phone (RED color) only on build. the keypad is ok but the tackticle feedback could have been made better. the volume rocker also bit small
the size is perfect. no waste of space except below screen where the walkman logo goes.
i like the desing. only thing i miss is symbian.
i feel the design better than N86 8mp. but worrying thing is missing symbian..
i need gaming...........like in symbian

You mean N-Gage gaming? Thus Far I'm non too impressed save for remote head-to-head gaming and also updating online scoring. If you mean .SIS file games like tht of SkyForce or KRally ... don't you fret SkyForce is just as incredible & responsive on J2ME for SE phones as it is in SIS format for Symbian S60. I actually used SkyForce on my W810 before ever using it on S60 on my N85.

when was the last time a had a good camera? ages ago. look at a cybershot for that - ie c905. surely you can see that the c905 and w995 are aimed at music and the other, CAMERA!
i think the price is reasonable here for what you get. good prices on ebay...

and the packaging. you have got to be kidding? since when does the box of phone deter you from liking the phone it self, Rediculous!

Sound like someone had a lolli.

* Only slightly overpriced as with ANY manufacturer intial month is always pricey.
* Cheap packaging? What phone are you using that uses more metal?! Hmm Hmmm - speak up now. Its built very solid from what I've read from MANY sources big or small. I've only read the Nokia E71 as well built as the W955. W995 is a slider and if its equal to/better than my N85 I'll be happy. IF it's slider is as good as the T303 then WOW.
* Camera? Have you seen the pics of W995 vs C905?! I see some shots on p65 of this thread being BETTER than C905. Xenon doesn't matter much to me without optical zoom or VGA @30/120fps for video recording yet either way Xenon flash uses a LOT of batter power.

Initially I wanted to buy the N86 and my N85 was a stop gate. Now I'll buy the W995a.

The w995 is overpriced, like it or not, spec wise perhaps not so much but when you look at the bigger picture, i would have got this but when i tried this in the shop i just got dejavu feeling, how is this really any different to my C902?? Hardly if any, obviousy a bigger screen but other than that, the camera 8mp but you cant tell the difference on screen and the flash (by what ive heard on reviews) is in-adequate and produces poor results, so much for taking pics in winter when you get 6hours daylight. The walkman player is the same as the W910!! Which is un-aceptable considering the W910 is classed as a low-end music phone (see CPW buyers guide), in all this time i would have expected changes considering se used to release a new walkman player each year (V1,V2,V3.......). The W980 retails now at £99.99, so in perspective you are paying an extra £270 for a digital camera . Which is crazy, and considering the competiton the W995 doesnt have any edge to allow a high price, sorry but its true, hopefully se aino will change this .
