@ Brix i dont think you caught up the pun read my previous post carefully.Vodacom GPRS is slow because more and more people are going on GPRS + Blackberry uses GPRS and i think Blackberry customers are making our GPRS connection slow. And some places where there is no 3G net have alot of customers that uses the Vodafone mobile connect card.Plus some customers got data bundles and did not use up all bundles will lose what ever they dont use up before month end......I always said if you want fast GPRS speeds use it after midnight..... @ Brix coming back to GPRS.FACT MTN only has about 5 roaming partners for GPRS where as Vodacom has 33.This is another reason why people choose Vodacom.Imagine buying a Blacberry or a 3g device from them and you can only use them on those 5 net....Thats sux.....I said it before and i am going to say it again Vodacom will not be beaten on DATA.MTN IS SLOW EVERYWHERE YOU GO This message was posted from a P900

Tahir don't fool yourself buddy. I don't care about mtn vodacom cellc, but atm mtn is the fastest data network around ! At least what the garden route is concerned. Vodacom only offers limited 3g in PE Plet and CT ! You can count the repeaters on your fingers ! Mtn on the other hand have began implementing edge on all there repeaters on the same stretch of road. 2technicians can upgrade/test 1 tower/day if all goes smooth.Vodacom's 3g need to erect twices many towers and I know for a fact in Jeffreysbay at least they will have a big headache to get the 'go ahead' from the enviorment dep. for the envisaged site ! @mario: Doubt he's been anywhere near J-Bay. Tahir forgets that MTN has been a leader in data that's why more business clients choose to go with Y'ello. Even when they offered free GPRS last the speeds were pretty fast considering a whole lot of people joined the network to take advantage of the free GPRS. This message was posted from a K700i

@Mario and Brix.If You think upgrading 2 basestation a day is fast for edge.Vodacom is upgrading 15 basestation a day to 3G......MTN ONLY HAS 5 GPRS ROAMING PARTNERS,Vodacom has 33.Vodacom over 9 months is going to upgrade 1000 basestation to 3g.700 are on now.At this time Vodacom is 2 months ahead in rolling out............Mario you said Vodacom has to put twice as much repeaters than what they have now.Vodacom is installing 3g equipment on 2G mast.Look around about every 5 KM there is a 2g mast, every 2g mast has to be upgraded to 3g This message was posted from a P900

LOL...it's more of a novelty than anything else. R5 for a minute of a rampshow is ridiculous. Check downloading tones(they don't specify whether it's mp3) will cost R15...thank you very much but this fuss around m-commerce is reminiscent of the internet boom. Lessons have invariably been learnt but I doubt people will be rushing to get Karl Lagerfeld's latest collection on their mobiles. This message was posted from a K700i
