definitly the one I got for my daughter was locked and that was the first thing I checked, both in the service menu and by putting a non o2 sim card in

masseur is it possible to check without inserting a different simcard as i only have o2 sims.
if so i will check to see if mine is locked. seems abit random to lock some and not others.

yes, just go into the service menu using the old >*
if any padlock is closed then you have a locked one. Normally its the first one which is for the network
