i guess its for some security and/or legality measures...

like SE doesnt wanna involve on some wire tapping cases...

and the beep clearly shows that, its a signal to the other end of the line that the conversation is being recorded...

and i guess it can also be patched... but again, we will go deep within the firmware... more codings that is...

turn off your phone, press and hold c key, then connect it to the cable. the found new hardware wizard will pop up so you have to use those drivers, not the ones from the cd.
