The first morning i use my n95 to watch a video the battery drops 1 bar after only 20mins.
I have to say I find this quite hard to believe. Have you really own a N95 or you just play with it only? I have recorded a 20 min video AND played the video back fully and battery bar has not moved from full.
220 hours they say? Well thatgwouldnt be bad if it really was 220 hours. In reality its 45 hours at best (and thats on GSM not 3G)
Standby is when you dont touch the phone. K800 standby is stated at 12 days. But normal use it last ONLY 2-3 days. So?

For my N95, if I use the phone very little, it drop one bar from full after 2.5 days or 60hours (on 3G network with new firmware).
Yes im afraid youve caught me, whatever shall I do?????? Why on earth would I lie about having an N95 for the sake of some opinions? Honestly?
So what firmware version were you using? After the generic update the battery is actually less than when first purchased, but you knew that right?

WHATEVER you say, SE DOES NOT have better build quality than Nokia, period! They might be the same, but SE is NOT better at build quality. I've owned 2 SE and currently own a N71. N71 is rock solid, ROCK!
Well go ahead and get an n95 and then let me know how it works out. True the N71 and N70 are solid phones but the high end n range phones like te N93 and N95 feel quite weak. They are not well builot at all and ask around on many other forums they will say how Nokias build quality has gone down over the years. The n95 felt like it was going to break in my pocket at times and the slider was quite creaky.
Overall im giving my opinons have had pretty much every high end phone from both makes over the years, W800, W900, N70, N90, N93, P910, N95 and now P990.
You just cant handle the N95 with as much ease and speed as you would with the k800 for example. Its a great phone but like I said its no point having all these features when the battery is so poor. Even the N93s battery is better than this. I dont know why they didnt go for LiPo batteries with this phone oh well.

Well, the way you whine and make a fuss about the N95 standby time makes me think so. Nobody would once think that the stated standby time of 220hrs would apply when u play video.

I am on the new firmware 11.0.026 and I dont find any deterioration in battery time. In fact, I feel the battery time is slightly better. Previously on old firmware, the battery drop the first bar in 29hrs. The last normal charge on the new firmware it was 36hrs. (still need to be confirmed as the charge is the first normal "normal" use since I upgraded the firmware)
btw: Are you using any screen-saver other than the default one? Some screensave (like the one bundled with Handy Clock) can reduce standby time 50%. Also if you switch on Wlan scan also affect battery life as well as some program like fring/im or games if you leave them running in the background.

No i never had wlan scaning on unless i was at home.
You can see how many people have returned their n95 due to so many bugs. 1 month and a bit in and there is already clearance stock

I remember there was one survey of many thousands of consumers by "What Mobile"?? in UK which states that Moto and SE phones are twice as likely to failed than Nokia or Samsung.
Many of us argued in a thread about that "research" for days on end mib, and I still stand by my original argument that the survey was flawed in it's design and inherrantly biased by operator customisations that didn't reflect the base model's underlying reliability.

Hi bavlondon2,
It is just obvious you prefer SE pure and simple and there is nothing wrong with that, but please get real the N93's build quality and battery life are both infinitely better than a P990 by anyone's criteria.
The calims you are makeing are just not backed up by realaity, the N93 has a 1100 aMh Li- Poloymer battery as opposed to what is it a 950Amh battery and Li-Ion in the P990 that there are so many threads of complaint about battery life and the lack of the BST-40 or what ever they now call it BST-34 that still nearly a year later hasn't materialised, i mean it's a battery just how difficult is it to launch what it was meant to ship with. The P990 is plasticky and numerous reports of paint peeling or chipping the N93 may be big but it is solid no creaks or rattles as long as you treat it with the respect it deserves.
