Couple of questions on the K850:

1) Can you get the clock as a screensaver? (like the K750i)

2) What's the podcast section all about?

1) No, the screen turns off completely when in standby mode so as to save energy, but a press on the volume key and the clock appears just as on the K750i and icons appear corresponding to missed calls, texts etc where appropriate. I think this is a better solution than having the screen on but very dim all the time because 90% of the day it'll be out of sight anyway.

2) I haven't looked at that yet, but my guess is it seperates organsises your podcasts from your music for you in the same way iTunes would.

Well I've just phoned up O2 and sorted out my upgrade to a K850i and I can't wait till it arrives I've got a N95 and I have to say it isn't the best phone out there, yes it's got all the features but then those features aren't implemented very well. Hopefully the K850i will really come out on top and I'm sure it will as Sony Ericsson generally do a damn good job with firmware upgrades which really improve the phone. I will let you know what I think when it arrives.

@ Exodemia

I also had a N95 and really didn't get on with it (I went back to my k800i until the K850 came out). While the N95 has an awful lot if features, with opera browser and an external gps (using nav4all) I am finding the K850i a fantastic piece of kit. Just need the 4gig card to arrive and soem decent earphones.

i have put a 2gb card in, its fine, works just as fast in my opnion

one question, the casing at the back, if you press the part near the light sensor in, is it squeeky? the rest of the back isnt, just that area. its quite annoying.

I'm having a problem connecting my K850i to my Tomtom 720.

It connects through fine and the tomtom sets the phone up for data with no problems.

The problem I'm having is that the phone sees the tomtom as a headset, and consequently I don't have the option to allow connection by default in the "my devices" area under bluetooth. This means i have to manually allow the data connection everytime which is a bit of a pain.

Anybody got any ideas?

btw nebbs is you k850i gsm unbranded??
also where did you get it from??
maybe a bad batch eh?

Glad im not the only one then although i am sorry that you are suffering the same defect, I got mine from O2 online gonna take it to an O2 shop and see if i can get it swapped.

Its the slightest touch on 'C' or the right hand soft key and i get the ripple effect.
