upgrading is encouraged to improve the phone's overall performance and to get rid of bugs that are present in previous SW versions... usually the new SW contains improved functionality for the phone (if we get lucky we can get the sms alert function soon )

My phone's currently running on r2e and i'm happy with it.
What's the major difference with the r6?
If there's no big diff then I may not upgrade since Im happy with the current version's stability and functionality.
Are there any new functions with the r6?

i, too, was happy with the R2E except for the irritating font inconsistency (that is, though you have set your phone to use small text, some menus would display them in medium size).

I bought my phone less than one year ago from Semicon.
If I get mine upgraded, is it still free? Should I go to Semicon or pwede some other place? Where is fastest place to get an upgrade (they do it on the spot)?
