On the white paper it says 65,536 colour TFT.
I don't really care about the colour.
By the way 1Ghz CPU doesn't necessarly to be the fastest one.
Using that CPU and not running it at that clock all the time can reduce power consumption.
I don't know if this is possible with this processor.
But even at the lowest clock rates, the UI(UX
) should work smoothly.
I know this phone is going to be great.
My disappointment was because of Android 2.0. I don't care which OS it runs but
shouldn't announce that they were going to use Android 2.0 as their first Android.
By the way can't we send files via blutooth with Android 1.6??

Sony Ericsson's 262k screens are noted as being some of the best on the market. The above image is the official specs taken from Engadget where it lists a 262k scratch resistant display. Now get over it.
Be more carefule next time when you are talking to me... NOW YOU GET OVER IT !
@bider try to read more carefully ..

I like SE very much. But that's unacceptable from a multinational company to give in one day 3 different informations (+the 16k blunder). The communication department is pitiful. When HTC (or Motorola) announces a flagship there aren't such mistakes. Does anyone at SE know the real X10 specs?
The X10 webpage is half done, the white paper is half done. Ma que cazzo???
I'm still thinking old SE isn't dead...

It seems that
dont know the amount of colours that the Xepria X10 has. On the press releas on the SE website it says "262,144 colour TFT touchscreen" but on the white paper it says 65,536 colours.

Obviously some of the disappointment here stems from over hyped expectations but guess that's natural in a community such as this. Also must remeber that Moto fundamentally rethought their strategic direction quite some time back 1.5/2 yrs ago and threw all their chips into the Android basket - well it made excellent sense for them given the parlous state they were in, the mess UIQ/Symbian was in and the basket case that is WM. As a result of such a strong commitment to Android they are one of only ywo Google Android partner comapanies in the world (HTC is other of course) and have benefitted from having Google employees assigned to them to assist in the development of thier new range of handsets. We are now seeing the fruits of Moto's intensive period of development when they brought out practically nothing (see their v low market share last qtr) and the results look pretty good and they have brought something new to it, tho I'm not sure an Android only strategy will be right in the long run (eventually you become a vassal of Google) but in their circumstances it's been well executed and was a brave if obvious choice.
SE came to the Android party a lot later and it's gonna take a bit more time to get this new UI shell optimised, reading some of the SE maketing/developer comments I wouldn't expect an overly early upgrade to Eclair becasue of the time taken to integrate UX into new OS versions. SE are partly paying the penalty for not having sorted their strategy out throughout 2007/2008 and into 2009 and trying to run with too many balls. The time wasted on the X1 panels interface could have been so much better used elsewhere (and it hasn't worked) if they need a WM phone for business (and it's a valid argument) then just doll it up a bit and push out a pretty plain vanilla one. Unfortunately SE now have a bit of a problem that they cannot overly commit to Android because there are becoming too many players in that space and it's going to be almost impossible to differentiate especially if you're not a Google partner (will always be behind the partners on release versions) so their Symbian strategy has to be very important too and I think they better stick with it and hope the horrible mess that is S60 finally morphs into something worthwhile rather than dying the whimpering death that looks possible at the moment. So as I feared at the beginning of this year without a platform of their own and having to try to run with all the packs they have ended up not being a favoured partner in any one of them and it shows. Becasue it's in the biggest trouble it may be that Symbian offers them the best/neediest partner but as we all know needy doesn't necessarily make best life partner.
Tough decisions for SE. X10 isn't bad - infact it's pretty good but as ever timing is horrible Moto have stolen it's thunder a bit already by shipping with 2.0 and again who knows what's in the pipes between now and next Feb (earliest). By March staring to get into next iPhone release hype.

Has anyone OFFICIALLY confirmed it will have capacitive display? Looks like not. All I can see is those demo videos where they push real hard on the icons which indicates a resistive screen again. And if it is resistive you can kiss multi-touch goodbye.
