no the bands won't change, if you're with AT&T atm and you are able to get 3G, then you will still get 3G after debranding with the UK files. You might need to reenter your APN settings again but it will work.

For those debranding and need to re-enter internet settings, SE provides a service that will do it for you.

http://www.sonyericsson.com/c[....]setupwap/xperiax10?cc=ca&lc=en

I've used this service in the past to set up internet on my current z710 and it works like a charm. I intend to use it w/ my x10 once i debrand it tomorrow.

I've just updated my phone to UK firmware for my Rogers X10a. Everything seems to work great.

I used an Android app to backup my phone before installing, so that I don't have to lose any data. I think I found that app by searching "Backup" in the Android Market.

I'm currently having problems locating myself using GPS though... Not sure if it's due to the firmware or not. Anyone tried this after flashing their X10a with the updated X10i firmware?

Congrats Pally.

Keep us updated on whether your GPS is affected.

EDIT: Pally, can you confirm what's in the box? Did you get an MW600 in there? Rogers website only says stereo headset

Moogoo: the MW600 was only included in the box of X10a pre-orders through Rogers. Those pre-orders were only for new Rogers contracts. For X10a's bought in store there is a promo you mail in and Rogers will send you a free MW600... if you just signed or re-signed a new contract with them.

So you're probably out of luck regarding getting a free MW600. Sorry.

Do let us know how the debranding goes with using the UK data files. I was ready to try it on my X10 last night, but my battery was pretty low and it suggests you have 50+% battery before running the repair function. I'd prefer if proper X10a files were available, but I don't think there's been any change on that front.

May try tonight.
