i know digital zoom is nothing special, it just that it buys you time. Btw can anyone confirm that the videos recorded are in 3gp format? I really like the phone! Going to get it anw.

thanks for the response. There's absolutely no reason for SE not to include zoom. This is a big letdown
Well - if it had zoom would have been a digital zoom anyway. And that you can even do with MSPaint or Paint.Net etc. on your PC if you really need it - the picture quality will be the same or better.
I'm sure you can find "zoom apps" in the market. I don't miss the zoom at all. If there is zoom I prefer a "real" optical zoom, but that's out of the question given the small housing size.

100% Agree, Digi zoom is a waste of time on a phone (or even a DC).
Is there anyway to adjust the quality settings for pictures? The photo file size is very small like 500Kb so must be heavily compressed.
Shame about 3gp too, anyway to up the quality settings for video's?

Thanks!

So I am pretty upset with my in-call volume and wanted to give the new Samsung Wave a try, I did some test shots with my Sony x10 in May and I just did these shots with Samsung Wave a few days ago.

Sony X10 shot in May 2010

Samsung Wave shot a few days ago in Auto mode, as you can see the contrast level or exposure just cannot compete.

I tried again with EV -0.7, little bit better, but I think if I did EV - 1.5 might get closer to the Sony X10

This last shot was basically taking the internal pre-loaded photo editing program and pressing auto correct Exposure and you get this result

I so need new firmware to fix in call volume and 2.1 upgrade for me to recharge my x10 and use it on a daily basis.
