Oh for god's sake! Do you only care about the nice screen!!!!
That devices hasn't got a led-flash anymore. So kiss goodbey that handy LED-torch that all those others have.
It seems that these days everyone cares about the screen but NOT about the actual useable features.
For some people, i assume such as Masseur, he WOULD prefer to look at a great quality screen rather than have something like a LED. To him, that probably is a usable feature - because it is to me too. In his opinion, he might not think having LEDs built into the phone is a usable feature. Do you see what im saying ?
I usually try to get myself a phone that has everything, including a great quality screen and LEDs. Ive used the Galaxy, iPhone 4 and my new girlfriend got herself a new Samsung Wave recently with its Super AMOLED screen. To be honest, apart from brightness i cannot really tell a difference between a TFT screen like my Satio's, the Galaxy's or her Wave apart from physical size. Super AMOLED screens are brighter and do offer better screen quality but its not really noticable to me. Once i turned the brightness of her screen down for her, it was by default set to 9 out of 10, to improve her battery life i put it along side my Satio and thought what all the fuss was about. It looks the same to me.
I do find however having a phone with LEDs they cant really be compared to a proper torch (flashlight). They're range is poor in comparison. Im considering buying a Galaxy just because i love how it looks, it feels and Android. I didnt like Android on the X10 one bit.
@ Bonovox - how are you finding the Galaxy's battery life ? GSMarena's review said it lasted them 3 days !!!

I get about 2 days with heavy usage but that's the same with most of these phones with battery draining features. For me as well as all the vital features I like to have a nice screen & what the hell is wrong with that? Whoever it was I forget who is ranting on about other people who like a nice screen. What exactly is wrong with that? And why the hell does it bother you so much & I see nothing wrong with having what you want. If you don't like that then sod you I don't care

The difference between the clarity of TFT & Super AMOLED is much deeper blacks & higher saturated colours which to me looks stunning. Also viewing the Galaxy in sunlight is near on perfect.

But thats the whole point in talking about a phone, about its advantages over others, or not as the case might be.
From using the phone, i didnt see any problems with the screen other than the actual pixel size did seem bigger than my Satio's making a more grainy image when holding the phone close to your face.
@ se_dude - maybe those pictures show how bad the X10's display is with its 65k screen limitation.

That is because the screen is 4 inches with the same 800x480 pixels. To me it looks fantastic & I see no graininess whatsoever your just nit picking

Why would you want to hold the phone close to your face to view the screen? Unless you have really bad eyesight

Anyway, I think the screen on the Galaxy is very good. I like the fact that blacks are true black, unlike lcd. But, overall, I didn't buy the phone for it's screen alone, more everything it does as a whole package. It's an excellent all-rounder in my opinion.

Me too I got it as it's already got a better version of Android than the X10
