@aussieland but LG have done a better job. Yes it has a larger battery but reviews said how great and long the GS4 battery was but it certainly wasn't. LG G2 uses Lithium Polymer not Ion plus it has a feature whereby when reading the screen and not scrolling it refreshes the screen less thus using less battery. Something like that anyway.

Nothing can explain such a poor flagship besides profit margins. They've finally managed to copy Apple in the most annoying way yet.

In your experience the GS4 didn't have good batt life, but me and many others enjoy good batt life, maybe you had a lemon?
Lithium Polymer isn't a major thing, Sony Ericsson phones, and some Nokias used LiPo batts to. The screen Power Saving feature you describe sounds like something that Samsung introduced with the Galaxy S3, where Display Power Saving lowers the displays refresh rate:

@Bonovox
my point was that with LG having a larger capacity battery you can't really make a fair comparison.Also it is worth noting that S4 uses an amoled screen so if you used yours mainly for web browsing then that will affect the battery life. I was very happy with the battery life while i had mine admittedly i was not a heavy user like you as i tend to have more than 1 phone. However the battery would last a day easily.

The phone itself might of not looked so bad if Samsung
Used the coloured backing on the front but with that
Black front there's not a lot for me to say
Just seems like Samsung are more keen for it's customers
To carry huge slabphonez around every 12 months
What we really need is not huge screens but a way for company's
To source better power to our devices lol
