They could be contenders but still need a couple more players, a defensive midfielder and another striker. Maybe not this season though.
We'll have to start a PL thread to carry this on
Back on track for the Lumia 930, without a Sky Go app

Agreed and agreed (a PL thread would be nice)
I guess the only reason I mentioned Sky Go is because I imagine how great would be to watch Sky Go on the massive screen of Lumia 1520
I noticed something weird since I have upgraded to 8.1 - pressing back button doesn't seem to exit the apps anymore , I keep having to manually close them on the multi tasking screen. Is that the same for you - I am just wondering if I am doing something wrong or there is anything wrong with my phone

But there is no BT sport app for windows phone though, isn't there? So there would still be a problem. Another app that I use is sun goals (again missing from windows phone)- to see the highlights for all the premier league games and fa cup.
Anyway I am not having a go at windows phone (I quite like my Lumia 1520 even after so long) however I am just pointing out why I couldn't live with windows phone only
One good thing that I noticed about windows phone which I am pretty sure it's and android don't have is the upload in the browser of a file from the phone. That is quite a good feature to have

This is in Android, it's been in Android since the Android 1.6 Donut days, I remember uploading my pics to Esato straight from my Xperia X10 back in 2010, and recently uploaded my CV to the company's website where I want to get a job with my Galaxy S4, it's iOS that doesn't have it, all you can do in iOS is upload from Gallery, while in Android (and I guess now in WP8.1?) you can upload from File Manager.
WRT BPL, I'm also United fan, I'm hopping we make top 4 at the very least, if van Gaal can kick the team in to gear and take advantage of the transfer window, which he did after the game yesterday, we may just end this season on a high, still early days, if we are playing like we did yesterday in early December then I'll be extremely worried.

Congrats on your team of choice
and I agree with everything that you said. Fingers crossed new players are coming this month
In regards to file upload I know that Samsung browser had the option but with chrome (and other browsers
afaik) you could only upload photos. I noticed that now chrome has added documents- which is good news (tbh I only use chrome or opera , almost never samsung own browser -or lg's one)
With iOS I am not sue how to put a document (word, excel etc) in the gallery
Btw the same problem I have with email except that android actually has the option but iOS and wp 8.1 don't . I know that say on wp 8 you can email a document from office directly however it is not the same IMO .

That doesn't sound right. Certainly on both my 1520 and 930 pressing the back key seems to exit most apps I am in. There always seems to be one or two that still continue to run in the background and I have to manually close them form the multitasking screen, and it never seems to be the same ones ??

OK so maybe I am not sure if it does that for all the apps (definetely not for the internet explorer) but something like facebook- will always stay open and i have to go to multitasking menu to close it,

As far as I know nothing closed on 7.5 / 7.8
8.0 leaves a lot open also.

I didn't use 7.5/7.8 so i can't comment but with WP8 if you press return button it all the way to the main screen it was definetely closing the app. I don't think it is the case with 8.1 but i might be wrong- i will make a concius effort to press exit all the way to see if something has changed...

On 8.0 and 8.1 you press back key and then the X on the apps or swipe up or down to close. As for uploads that's been on Android for years it was not possible to upload files or even save passwords on IE10 on WP8.0 before 8.1 and I uploaded a photo yesterday to Esato from Galaxy S5

On WP8.0/8.1 you can use the X or swipe down to close an app from the multi tasking window. There is no swipe up option to close apps
