Its amazing how this thread transformed into different sentiments. From "The XDA2 is better than the P900"... to "You can't compare the two."... and finally "I'm ditching the XDA2 because the P900 is much easier to handle".
A good example of how fragile people's emotions are and how powerful a community is.

Trust me, if the Wankers (02) unblocked my phone, I would keep XDA2....It does have great features and the screen is much bigger....

well, i don't agree that there's a "correct" and "incorrect" in this discussion since it's truly a matter of taste and requirements.
my girlfriend's MDA is a great machine, it's even faster than my pocket loox running with an xscale cpu, but it's just sooo big.

Having had the XDA2 for a week, P800 for a year & now P900 for a day
I will try & give an overview of strengths & weekness. Will just focus on P900 as P800 similar anyway.
XDA2 vs P900
AS A PHONE:
All classic phone type tasks (voice, text, mms etc) are better implemented on P900 and it is superb for one hand operation & IT LOOKS LIKE A PHONE for those who are concerned by such things. I would say the XDA2 is weaker in every area in this respect.
USABILITY:
Have had a few Pocket PC's now and various Symbian OS stuff & quite frankly the features that are built into the P900 are much easier to use, find & work with in the P900.
Last thing. The P900 has the most fantastic usabilty tool - - - JogDial!! Say no more
BUILT IN FEATURES:
I find the built in features of the P900 perfectly adequate for most users & again easier to use, find & work with. With ADD ON software the XDA2 is much more powerfull especially for serious Hard Core business use but I always thought the built in stuff was awkward (saying that the best I ever used was in my old Psion machines). Buy Tracker or Handy Day for the P900 & you have a much more usable PDA environment. To bring the XDA2 upto a level that far surpases the P800 you would buy something like Agenda Fusion (excellent) & Battery Pack 2003 Today type utility (again excellent) but all additional cost & IMO still not as usable as P900.
Internet/Web:
Think this one comes down to personal choice. I love the P900 Opera browser finding it easy to use, fast & powerfull enough for what I need. Pitty they didn't drop the built-in internet browser & just have a combined all-in-one browser (still find Opera will not initialise over WAP GPRS). Opera has small screen rendering but pocket browser can have a flash add-in. The email features of the XDA2 have the edge over the P900.
Multimedia: (music, videos, pictures)
If it wasn't for OggPlayer for P900 then I would say WMP9 is better purely on the fact that you can get excellent music quality with very small file say. Unless I'm mistaken, P900 does not trully support mp3pro even though it will still play the files. I love everything about OggPlayer & my hat goes off the the programmer. XDA2 has excellent conectivity to Windows WMP9. The XDA2 headphones are shit. You WILL need to use others.
Video - HaHaHa, the P900 is a toy compared to the XDA2. Fact - the XDA2 is fabulous for any kind of video either capturing at full screen 240x320 or playing back DVD quality movies. There is even a TV add-on for the XDA2. For me video isn't a big thing & other than as a trial I never did anything with video playback on P800 but am very likely to find the video recording of the P900 usuful as it is quite good quality but doesn't record at full screen resolution like the XDA2. Then there is storage potential upto 1GB!!!
Pictures - P900 quality appears improved over P800 but it is an excellent implementation on the XDA2. I would say XDA2 wins the award here.
E-books:
I think Mobipocket is great. Couldn't get the MS Reader activated for secure books with XDA2 but loaded Mobipocket on it & it was great. Equally happy with ebooks on either platform. XDA2 benefits from bigger & better screen but P900 wins on size/weight (more comfortable to hold for long periods) & ease of use with JogDial.
Games:
The XDA2 is a portable games monster. Five way direction button & quantity of good quality games - the P900 can't touch it yet & may never be able to because no matter what you say about Pocket PC OS, with 128MB of built in memory, a 400MHz processor & dedicated ATI graphics its awesome.
Size/Qudos/Portabilty:
Only one thing to say, P900. Was really being won over by the XDA2 but then the coin finally dropped. Too big to be trully portable like the P900.
Power/Performance:
The XDA2 oozes power but you can still get the slow downs & lock-ups which cause frustration. Very responsive & lightning fast most of the time. The P900 has delays & pauses but not enough to annoy & no unexpected long delays or pauses.
Hard to say about battery life. The XDA2 looks to use less power in its standby mode but I could'nt see me getting a solid 8hrs use out of it like you can with p800/p900. Moderate use (2-3hrs) with some long calls had the XDA2 battery down to 50%.
Expansion/Future
XDA2 - Pocket PC platform going from strength to strength.
More of everything for the XDA2 comms, GPS, TV, WiFi, 1GB memory & now predicting 4GB in near future.
The XDA2 has far more flexibilty than a P900.
Build Quality/Value for Money:
The Build Quality & Value for Money on same tariff award has the go to the XDA2. You really feel you have value for money & I couldn't fault the build quality.
Choice:
A bloody difficult one but for me and the uses I really need its now XDA2 30% P900 70%. Both are excellent machines & I wouldn't dare recommend one over the other because it really comes down to what your individual needs & wants are. Pitty XDA2 is only available on O2. I much prefer Orange.
A long read but hope you find my opinion/overview useful in making your choice fellow esatonians

@psikey
(Sigh of relief)... For once (earlier on this thread) I thought that you were PRO-XDA2 all the way. Now, lloking at your non-biased and very informative comparison, I think that you did an exellent job on that.
How about the reception? Screen quality?
Do you think that there is a big difference between P800 and P900?
