i watched this thread from the start thought it started a bit over the top
however there is no smoke without fire and plenty of people are making complaints about the phone minor complaints i might add and most are coming on saying its a great phone but
which makes me think they aint here to slag off se or whatever paranoid view people have.
at the end of the day there are problems with battery life etc if you aint got the problems great but accept that others do
and as long as they aint making stuff up then let them have there say
people need to clam down its a phone its not life or death

well well well...
Fights still on...very soon a new games coming out called " Phone Combat" lol..
Alll right when you people were busy arguing..I took a stroll and got my precious upgraded to the R2L firmware...But since my phone was bug free even with the R2A version..I don't notice much change..Although the battery has improved..cause they slowed down the Damn! Menu..I kinda liked the Zippy speed earlier..Here are a few changes I noticed :

1) Mic Delay has been rectified.

2) Battery Improved, although expecting better results with a full discharge and re-charge routine.

3)Menu has become slow incomparison with the R2A version..Most people din;t like earlier..but I did..I did...I did

4) Video has become little more choppy..R2A was better

5) Java " Tennis Game" has become faster...

6) Speaker volume remains the same..I have not noticed any change

Any comments or Have I left anything let me know..!

@Kyniver

Why should I keep it to myself if I want this thread locked? Give me one good reason why it shouldnt be!

The original points made by Silex have been rebuked by some more sensible posts and some not so sensible ones, and this whole topic has degenerated into a slanging match between one or two Esato members.

What sensible purpose does this thread serve anymore? Oh and before you say it, discussing the K700's faults is not a sensible reason to keep this thread open as there is already a long running discussion about them that can be found here.

Im so blinded by my love for SE im about to buy a second hand Nokia 6600, n-gage or 3650 in the next few days !

Im not actually fighting with anybody. I just get sick of reading people like mib1800 moan about a phone they dont own, have very little experience of or exaggerate the minor firmware problems it currently has - then label the phone as crap.

The K700i is a superb phone, theres not a single problem with it that would stop me buying one if i were a prospective buyer, theres only small things that either 1) dont satisfy some people, or 2) firmware bugs.

Put it this way, at least SE phones dont explode

minor for some is major for others though. i agree if you aint got one or used one then how can you comment.
if you are getting a nokia then check out this website iphone-form.org
you will find some good apps and games (make sure you register and log in as lots of good things appear when you do)
youre right your nokia might explode in your pocket. but your se charger may explode when plugged in and burn your house down

So, you're saying the battery meter bug which is only a minor problem for people who have it.. is a major problem for others ?

I'd call a major problem something that prevents the phone from being used, such as not being able to make any calls, the phone no switching on, or the battery not charging.

Well the fact is why should this thread be locked is none of ur business. Sure this discussion is rather useless and it is going nowhere, i agree. However nobody is forcing u to read this topic like i said before, if people want to post in here they can. It is not causing any harm to see on the topic list this thread still being posted in. If u don't like the treads discussion just don't go into it, its really none of ur business if this thread is useless or not.

Its like going to a noob topic with pointless discussions and telling everyone that this thread should be locked because it serves u no use. If other people want to post let them, its not ur business if they want to waste their time or not (i personally think it is a good discussion).

LOCKING THREADS is for threads that have inappropriate discussions or are a threat to this website entirely. As long as it is about phones its fine. Stop complaining, "i want this thread locked" its not a problem.

I remind you that this is a PHONE that can be used as a camera, MP3 player, video recorder etc. not something else. Be grateful that there's such a phone that can do all these things. It ain't a robot you know!

hey friend, i do hv contact with K700 (my gf's). so sometimes her phone problems become my problem.

i hv never said the K700 is crap. i'm saying the phone has problems but u dismiss them without due regards.

Issues so far:-
1. Battery life - max 40 hrs with total 50min talk and 40min using other functions. Even my 6600 can go 70hrs at the same usage.
2. Self-turn off once. (consider this critical)
3. Some random white-screen reboot. What annoys her is that u cannot duplicate them and nail it down. So she always has the niggling feeling when it is going to happen again.
4. Delay between pickup and voice.
5. Sometimes initial few seconds, can hear echo in receiver. (not sure whether it is phone or signal problem).

No issue.
1. Camera. In bright light beats my 6600 hands down. No so in dim condition. Don't find the "so called" flash useful at all.
2. Sticker didnt fall off
3. No problem with UI (she has no issue, for me i reserve my judgement)

i dont think its a battery meter bug people are complaining about its that the battery discharges so quickly over a se reported 300hrs standby.
so it could be major if they go to make a call and the phone doesnt have the juice for it or runs out in a critical part of the call
