A jibe, a laugh, something meant in good humour, is okay (in the right circumstances) but some of the things people say are just downright rude.

@meths
How well did you integrate into Esato? Did you feel intimidated or daunted by the community here?

Hell, i had to force my way in here. If it wasnt for being such good buddies with mince i probably wouldnt have stuck it out, im glad i did though, esato is great, and its nice to be "part of the furniture".

@meths
In what way did you find it difficult?

There was a wall of indifference, or downright ignorance to a lot of my questions, i still see it quite a bit. It was only when i started being "whacky" and talking outside of the phone forums that people started to treat me as a "real member", and even then it was hard to feel part of esato, still an outsider looking in. I had to force my way in, people tend to ignore you until you hit 500+ posts. (it should be scrapped)

Very interesting points, i have been a member for around a year or so after stumbling upon esato after the purchase of a p800, the few questions i have asked were usually met with the reply of 'use the search' which is what i do most of the time i have a problem. There is always a helpfull someone that would just reply 'get a p900' so thats what iv'e done, you will see that i don't post very often due to most of the subjects being covered already. I'm not a phone anorak, so unfortunatley don't have a great deal to contribute back to the forum for which i appologise.
Esato has gotten me out of a few spots for which i thank those people who took the time to reply to a newbie.
Thanks

If there was a smilie to show one raising an eyebrow I would have posted it.
I suppose there is an indifference to newbies on a certain level. Newbies' questions are answered, but I imagine that it might be difficult for newbies to take part in discussions, such as this one.

No, its more than that. Its not pleasant to read "I stopped posting on esato because of all the noobs" from "veterans" like fijbert. Dammit, i wasnt going to mention names!

To post or not post that is the quandary. Wether you post on a subject or not is down to your confidence (which usually grows with age unless you're cocky), in addition to that you have the fear of killing a thread - the dreaded last post.
The member who take it upon themselves to be arsey about re-occuring questions should take a chill pill, calm down and get a life.
(Hello BTW)
